I think that it really depends on what kind of riding you are going to do.
Freeride / All Mountain - my favorites are K2, Ride, Burton
Freestyle / park - maybe Lib Tech, Forum, K2
Check out this size calculator that also will give you some suggestions on the type of board that would be best for your size and style of riding.

There is no such thing as the best snowboard or the best brand come to that, alot comes down to just personal preference as the majority of snowboard brands these days are very good. The question you really need to ask is not what is the best snowboard, but what is the best snowboard for me. The answer to this will be determined by various factors which are your level of riding ie begineer, intermediate, advanced etc, the type of riding you like to do ie freestyle, freeride, powder, or a bit of everything. Then you have to take your weight, height and shoes size into consideration when buying a board. If you email me this info i can send you a list of boards that will suit you, Good Luck.

There is no such thing as "the best snowboard." There are so many great boards out there and for many different reasons. You need to figure out how much you can spend and then split that amount between your boots, bindings, and snowboard. Put the most effort into finding boots that fit well... it will make the biggest difference to how much you enjoy your day. As far the the board and bindings, if you stick to reputable name brands you won't go wrong. If you are into snowboarding and know the riders, check out the manufacturers that sponsor the riders that you like. The board won't likely be any better or worse than other good brands, but at least the manufacturer will recover a bit of their sponsorship money!

If you plan on riding park (rails boxes booterz) Id go with the K2 WWW (would wide weapon) this deck is sick and you can run them really short and still carve on that edge, check the deck out on you tube. The www is the sickest park board made. Happy Shredding!

It depends on your personal taste for one, but the most important thing is to get one that is sized correctly for you. Check out this web page http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm It will suggest snowboards to you based on your height, weight, style of riding, and ability. SWEET! Personally I like the brands Ride, Rossignol, Burton, Salomon, ... gosh there are SO many good ones I cannot name them all.

Deffinatly Burton. They make the worlds BEST quality boards. They are pretty expensive though unless you know where to look. The average Burton costs over $500. My reccomendation. They're great if you're done growing cause they last SUPER long. They're also great if your rich. Then you can replace it if gets run over by a snowmobile.
