In Australia.
The cheque is from Bendigo Bank, I don't have an account with Bendigo Bank.
They also haven't put my full name on the cheque, ie. they've put Sarah instead of Sarah-Kate, will that be a problem?

you could deposit it into your account, this will take 2-3 days to clear, and the name shouldn't matter so much, or for instant cashing of it, you can take it to the branch of the bank where the person (or company) who wrote the cheque banks, and if you show some id the sarah/sarah-kate thing shouldn't matter (probably)

I'm not sure what your banking policy's are in Australia. But here in the states. You can cash a check at the bank it is drawn on whether you have an account there or not. The charge a nominal fee.
The other thing we have here and I am not sure that you have there. Is check cashing places. That's all they do, and they also charge a fee.
