The truth hurts sometimes....

You can't generalize this to an entire population. Some will actually want the truth. Others will only SAY they want the truth when in fact they want you to tell them what they want to hear. Which is exactly WHY I'll never post my picture on here and ask if people think I'm handsome! lol

Avoid answering questions which want an affirmative answer, regardless of the truth of the matter. You can tell by the way they are worded if the asker just wants a big Yes when the truth is No!

haha
i noticed that when i was in some chat rooms
they talk sweet and nice to get your confidence. And after you are honest they treat you like an idiot.
I think they are weird and verbal abusers,
My lesson: never reveal the truth about yourself with stangers.
On the other hand, for you the truth is something that makes you sensitive. Revealing it makes you vulnerable since the others don't feel the way you feel it.

I've been asking the same question for years now!

I think they want you to think that they want the truth, but in reality they aren't capable of actually handling the truth without some sort of "padding" to it.

There's a difference between "honesty" and...

"Brutal Honesty..."

True "honesty" about something that deals with the "personal..."

Is "toned down a touch" for the sake of the feelings of the obviously sensitive person asking for the "honest truth" about something they really don't want the "honest truth" about...

Ask any guy whose girlfriend or wife casually asks him what he thinks of her outfit, or her weight, or her whatever...

The correct "honest answer" is always in that situation...

"You look great!"

Notice the lack of "brutal honesty" in that answer...

LMAO...

they want to honestly belive u mean the nice things you say about them, usually when they ask for the truth they arent prepared for it, or in other words, ahem, they want the truth but they can't handle the truth :p

It uaually best to always be honest. you may have less friends but the ones you have dont give you this headache.

"Honey, do I look big in these jeans?" YES Honey you look 50 pounds overweight !!!!! Next question!

"Sweetie, do you think I'm balding up top?" NO, Honey your just donating hair to the Finch family out in the yard!

May be we should just answer a question with a question...... "Do you want the truth or a white lie?"

It's code. They don't want the truth, they want something flattering that you will say is the truth. To them, truth is only a positive thing; that's all their ears want to hear.

some people ask for things they are not really ready for. although they ask for truth they still want you to lie because they are afraid of the truth. as one said....the truth hurts some people. not everyone can handle truth.
