What substance does his campaign platform have? He also looks old and weak.

If you're with Fred, give up now. The basis of his campaign is "perhaps you've seen me on TV".

Fred Thompson is a man of strong moral faith that will continue the nation on the path it is on. He will continue to fight for the Iraqi citizens, not allow America to be upstaged by Iran, continue the surging economy with tax cuts, and abolish abortion and gay marriage.

Actually, almost any Republican will tell you that Fred has the best ideas and they just wish the presentation would catch up with the ideas.

1) he's got a simple plan to save social security.

2) he's good on border enforcement

3) he wants to pick judges who actually follow the law

I listed out all my reasons when I threw my hat in with Fred ... link below.

He is the only one Conservative who firmly and clearly stand on a pro-gun policy, to begin with.

I'll vote for him, for the aforesaid reason, at least. In Switzerland, every man is a citizen-soldier and, as such, he has his Sig full auto assault rifle at home with a box of ammunitions and goes to the shooting practice with it, regularly. No problem.
There are violent people; not violent guns; and anyone is planning to kill doesn't necessarily need a gun to carry on his project.

He's also been articulating plans for how to accomplish the things he says he believes in. That makes a big differnce to me. I expect the candiate to tell me that they want to save Social Security, but Fred has ideas on how and he's telling us what they are.

He's just another corporate shill to scare the sheep ...* OMG LOOK OUT A HORRORIST! BEHIND THE BUSHES*... into giving away their hard earned money to build shiny bomblets to drop on poor brown kids.

I agree with that, he didn't fill in the big expectations but people are still expecting so they support him.

Even so, he looks like a better option than Ron Paul.
