i just noticed how my 9 month old shows no intrust in drinking from a bottle but will drink water/juice from a sippy cup. we can give him a bottle with his formula in it and he will drink some then throw it down and go play and it use to take no more then 20mins to drink 8 oz know it takes more then a hour so we end up throwing out most of the bottle. i was thought his throut hurt but yet he will drink juice and water from a sippy. he has been on a sippy since 6 months old .

my question is do they usally reject the bottle at this age? if he shows no intrest in the bottle what is the best sippy to get for his formula that has to be thicken with rice cereal?

This is the matter of his interest, once when he puts down the bottle and starts playing pick it up and put it in the refrigerator, do not let it go to waste. Same with juice and other things. He may be used to warm milk and it may be getting cold, or the other way around.

Just more interested in playing then feeding. Attention span, just getting his fill, for the milk.

Do try different cups for milk, one that give more out, or less out. But do use what works for water and the juice.

Key is the trial and error.

If he is healthy I would not worry.

Does he eat some solid food? If so he may even give up milk, it is matter of acquired taste.

My son went to whole milk at that age because he had no interest in nursing anymore, and he wouldnt use a bottle.

But he also ate table foods and whatever I was cooking or eating at that age. I dont know why your 9 month old HAS to have cereal in his formula... thats a little redundant for that age. But yeah, a sippy would be fine.

It worked for me, I dont know what you'll want to do, but I dont see why he HAS to use a bottle. I use the Nuby sippies, they dont have gaskets that get messy and they open as big as they can suck, so cereal will certainly fit through it. Theyre the ones that have the clear sillicon tops.

i think you should just put his formula in a sippy cup theres these sippy cups at burlington coat factory in the baby depot section there nuby and they have soft nippl so it will be easy for him to drink out of it and the formula will come out fine with the cereal
