Vietnam is the in place to visit right now. If you start in Hanoi make sure to take the night train to Sapa and stay at the Mountain View Hotel. (Great views and inexpensive) It could be the highlight of your trip. Take the 2 day tour to Halong Bay. Very nice. Then start south bound. I firmly believe that Hoi An is the best place to visit in Vietnam. The ancient town is a World Heritage city and absolutely beautiful. The beach is white sand and 40 kilometers long. Vietnam is really inexpensive. Hotels cost about $10 a night. You can find beer at less than 15 cents a glass. The people are wonderful. Pass on Nha Trang unless you like multi story buildings on the beach. Dalat is great and Saigon is always and experience. Phu Quoc was disappointing to me. They just don't have a clue as far as conservation and the beach's and harbors were filthy. The infrastructure is just not there yet but you can see that the island will be something special in the future. It’s not special now. The Mekong is great with lots of things to see but you can do it in a couple of days. You are going to have a great time. I went around the world to many different countries. I have been on the road for over 2 years. I chose to purchase a house in Hoian. It’s the best.

Traveling in vietnam is a rewarding experience the fact of the matter is that ever since the 1960s the west has been in decline and the east has been getting better and better, vietnam has a nice history, good prices and it feels safe.

"trickster" has some good ideas... i especially like traveling on the overnight train anywhere.. but nha trang is a must for 1st timers to vn , hoi an is ok ,but you wont be able to take it more than 2 nights[ sales people are way too pushy and are all over town] so plan on just passing through..it is pretty, many good places to eat , nice shops and galleries but the "hawkers " can be very tedious.. and da lat is absolutely the worst place in vn.. not at all traveler friendly..maybe thats why he calls himself "trickster".. lol

i might advise Vietnam over Fiji as there is so lots extra to be certain and do there. it is likewise a much extra vacationer friendly and additionally extra value-effective place to circulate to. attractions to be certain: Quan Thanh Temple, Ha Noi Hoan Kiem Lake, Ha Noi Sai Gon (Ho Chi Minh city) Con Dao Islands (Côn ??o) fragrance Pagoda (Chùa H??ng), close to Ha Noi Son Tra Peninsular, Da Nang Language additionally shouldnt be too lots of a challenge as maximum locals talk slightly english. I advise you're taking a translation e book alongside. it is likewise very secure, surprisingly for travelers.
