1- There is no religious litmus test for running for office. So, if they fit the real criteria for the office (35, natural-born citizen of the US, etc..), then what does it matter of their beliefs?

I would offer that a "belief" in anything does not qualify a person for anything. Believing that the Bible is true doesn't get you very far in doing any job you undertake. Even to the point of "believing in yourself." In other words, self-confidence is a wonderful attribute, but if your passion and drive is for drug dealing, stealing and destruction how does this translate into you being qualified for anything other than jail? Or death?
It is not about belief. It is about FAITH. It is all about asking God for his intervention in your life that you can strive and attain to greater things that are really beyond your capacity to do - on your own. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Heb 11:1)
This is where you can find the truth of your life - Hope and conviction. I hope for all things good - I am convicted in my love of God. He returns it in abundance!

I think a President should lead by example, and his religious views be kept to himself. He is elected to protect all Americans, not just those of certain or no faith.
Those who believe, and those who don't should respect his (or her) beliefs, and not make such an issue out of it.
