Other then the, Pledge of allegiance , Stem cell research, same sex marriage, and abortion. Are there any other ways religion is affecting society in a scale as those do?

There's the overall dividing of society as a religious strategy, and of course the religious devaluing of life, which is routinely used to justify the inequality in distribution of the basic needs.

Before I answer, would you clarify something for me?

While I agree with you on the Pledge of Allegiance (I like "under God" being in there, and I always did even when I wasn't a Christian and didn't believe in God, but I understand why other people DON'T like it being in there and would like it removed), I'm puzzled about the others.

Stem cell research is legal. Embryonic stem cell research is not funded by the government, but as far as I know, it's still legal.

Same-sex marriage was never legal in the first place. Maybe it should be, maybe not.

Abortion is completely legal.

So how is religion affecting those things? We're living in an increasingly secular society. This is obvious from sex education being taught earlier and earlier, the sex and violence on TV, more crime, more teen pregnancy, more STDs, et cetera.

I can't wait until we strike a balance between the two. At one point, the U.S. was too conservative* (especially as far as race relations). Now it's too liberal*. We need to practice moderation.

Other than what you mentioned religion makes people and nation fight each other in the name of their gods - so far has been the highest killer also. Religion has also affected by way of drawing borders dividing nations and thus dividing people and made them fight again each other - see Israel, see Lebanon, see India, see Sri Lanka and more....

But the most horrific thing which religion induces is fear in everyones mind and makes you live in constant insecurity - tries to define the undefined in either the form of resurrection or reincarnation and do not allow you to live a fearless happy carefree life.

It takes away the freedom of mind and soul.

Religion affects society in many ways. Negatively and positively. People kill because of their religion. People give to the needy because of their religion. People insult and slander others in the name of religion. People comfort those who have been slandered because of religion.

If one truly believes, then nearly everything they do is touched by their faith. Or should be. (Please don't take this to mean that those who believe differently, or don't believe in God at all, don't participate. Some of the kindest people I know are Atheists - as are some of the most vile people I know. Just like religious folks)

None of those things are indicators of "an increasingly secular society", and I can't see why you'd think they were connected. In fact in a secular society you can expect to see fewer STDs, less teen pregnancy, certainly less crime and less violence on TV than in our current religion-drenched society.

You're dead wrong about whatever it is that makes you think that these problems are "obvious" indicators of an increasingly secular society. It is largely religious belief that makes us unwilling to address our problems - most obviously in the cases of sex and violence that you cite. You have this exactly backwards.

Yes, trying to teach students creationism disguised as intelligent design, also some want to bring prayers back to public schools. In short the wall of separation of church and state is SUPPOSE to be high but it seems to be lowered to favor Christianity.

In the bible, god killed more people than satan. What does that tell you?

Holy wars, killing for the name of god, the war in Iraq, the douchebag president (If that's what you want to call him) in office. Sigh.
