When one day you wake up and your pillow has to have just the right firmness and you blanket has to be just right weight, you know your getting old but it's when the day comes you start to barking at people for no real obvious reason you know your well on your way to retirement.....feeling old is before 50 momentarily, once over 50 no more rule you can stay up all hour drink what you desire and when, best part .....well I leave that up to you to use your imagination.

You are thinking with existing scheme of things and feel that when they are lost you are lost too! No Sir, never. There are umpteen number of possibilities of being and becoming till the last breath. Be open to life, have willingness to change and explore. Think of those thing which you wanted to become or enjoyed then but could not pursue. Why can't you take up after retirement.Do not fear loosing so far carved identity! In other words:
The best way to beat the old age is to be more active, mentally and physically, open up to other/newer things around that are in the reach, pick up the thread you had left or tie up the new ones! Explore calmly and within yourself what all you can come out with/become. Best wishes,

Stop looking at what you were and where you've been. Look at what you want to do and where you would like to go. Get involved in some activities - physical activities will help you keep your stamina up. I'm 57 and ride bicycles, I have found that I have no trouble keeping pace with my 32 yr old son and his friends. My beard is almost all white - thought about shaving it off, but wife likes it so I guess it'll stay. Change what you can, accept what you can't.

I guess people never think about old age when they r young. Im 30 and just realized that preventative measures to keep urself looking young are important. I stopped drinking, smoking, I get plenty of sleep, exercise, eat right, use lots of moisturizer and I stay away from the sun. You can do the same. Just take care of urself and getting old isnt that bad because if u take care of urself you age well. Look at Bo Derek she is 50+ and look great and Kim Catrall and Christie Brinkley. They all look great and in their 50's and they are women which is even harder for them because their skin and bodies mature faster. Just think about that.

I know this might sound cliched, but we are as old as we feel. This is true. Yes! you can no longer run as fast as you ran in your young age.. but at the brighter side... you have gained that much wisdom to avoid that runnig and still be faster :-).
Yes! you might feel low about your sexual life...but the truth is that now you have a stock of memories to refer which is worth glancing through. Yes! you look diffrerent may be not that attractive but isnt that attracting more respect.
And above all... you have to live life to the fullest. So being 50 as also fun.. the art is how you make it interesting. No one is gonna stop you from doing things. There are no set rules that one should follow for a particular age. its upto you to do it. Anil Kapoor is 50+ hew still plays a 30 yr old in movies. Thats his job. This is your life...
Cheers...Am sure you gonna rock!

Confront what? There is no confrontation involved. It's all downhill from here! Acceptance is the key. Prevention is your only option. Get as healthy as you can, make cosmetic changes if it is that important to you. There are a few powers left and some will increase as you age. We all face it. When I worked in a nursing home, I asked my residents what wise wisdom they had to pass to me. Everyone of them said Don't get old.

Numbered age doesn't matter...you're only as old as you feel.
Be young, act young, feel young. Enjoy the life you have instead of worrying about what you have left.
Good luck!
