I asked my Christian friend this once
"What if someone lived a good life, donated money, wasn't selfish and all in all lived as good and noble life as humans could , would they still got to heaven if they didn't embrace Jesus"
He replied pretty bluntly "no"
I was sort of taken back
I mean I believe in some sort of God, but I find the idea of Jesus being Son of God sort of weird.
does that mean im destined to rot in hell for all eternity?
Would appreciate some opinions and answers
Thanks

But, why would god have such a fault in his plan, that the only possible way for us to get into heaven is to sacrifice his own son?
It's sort of like giving us a test we are destined to fail.
And does taht mean, all other religions, who believe in morals and ethics and try and make the world a better place, are also doomed to hell, because they dont believe in one aspect of the bible (Jesus).

Yes , i understand waht u all mean, but please answer this question
The Christian believes in the trinity
Whilst the non christian believes in god
The Christian has the more sinful life, (i know not all, but Christians i know, just drink sleep around with girls, and sort of use jesus as a safety net)
The religious non christian doesnt drink, doesnt sleep around, etc
The non christian rots in hell, for living a good life but not believing in Jesus (but only one god)
and the sinful christian goes to heaven for believing in the trinity,
Need some answers lol
thanks

that's right no works can get you to Heaven, only accepting the free gift of Salvation. That you are a sinner and Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins. Even a person who lives a good life, still sins. Everyone is selfish, and nobody lives as good as they could. The only way to Heaven is through Christ - He is the way the truth and the Life, nobody gets to Heaven without Him. He's the only way.
All it takes is one sin to cast a person in Hell - Jesus died to save sinners.. the wages of sin is death.
God is one being in 3 persons. God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God is an eternal self-existant being - meaning God existed before there was a world or an earth or Heavens and Nobody created Him. He was already and He lives forever and knows all and sees all and everything.
Read the book of Romans - it helps explain some of this.

I think the afterlife will answer a lot of questions for a lot of people. For instance, if there is an afterlife, and God is involved, then the Atheists are going to have to do some rethinking of their beliefs. Or if it turned out Jesus was just another guy, then Christians will have to question their own practices. Their are a lot of mysteries to a lot of people, and I don't know if one single person alive that has all the answers. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
In the mean time, use your own faith in your way, to learn to your best knowledge, what is true, and where your life is going. If you search long enough, then answers will come.

ahh, ok, lets get started here. To live just by works alone does not grant you a way into heaven. God is perfect. He cannot have sin in his presence. We have all sinned, so therefore, we are not perfect and cannot enter the presence of God. Before Jesus came, people had to sacrifice animals to God to wash away their sins. But, God sent his son to be an ultimate sacrifice for us. He was perfect, and he died for all of us. All we have to do is ask forgiveness for our sins, and beleive Jesus is the son of God, and our sins are forgiven. We won't have to worry about going to hell, because we will be veiwed perfect because Christ gave his life to wash away our sins.
God loves us, and wants the best for us. All we have to do is embrace him. There really isn't any alternative. It sounds mean and all, but even really good people have done something wrong in their life. I'm not perfect, but I have asked God to forgive me of my sins. I would suggest talking to a Pastor at a church, because I am not an expert or anything. The pastor can help you with any other questions you might have.
To your additional details, God planned for us to be perfect, he created us perfect, but he also created us with a free will. He wasn't going to make us all robots and do everything no matter what we thought. We had a choice, and we sinned. So then we failed the test, yes. So now we need Christ to save us.
Now, there are people that say they are christians, and they use God as a safety net. They think of Christianity as a way to forgive their sins, so now they can sin all they want. I beleive that they are not actually christians in the first place. If you are a true christian, you will want to do the right thing, and not use christianity as a safety net. God puts a desire in your heart if your a true Christian to do whats right and not whats wrong. You can still choose whichever you like, because even as christains we are not robots, but people who choose the wrong should question if they really are saved.

First of all amigo, lots of people find it weird that Jesus is the Son of God. At least until you understand exactly what that means. Would love to talk to you about that some time, and see if I can help you get over your weirdness towards Him.
Of course non-religious people are going to tell you that you will not rot in hell, because they do not believe in hell, heaven, Jesus or anything else for that matter, besides the "almighty" dollar which IS their god, they just don't realize it.
As a Christian I believe that God has given us a true, inerrant Word if studied within the original languages. But you have to look at the original words to understand all of it, there are no contradictions if rightly divided.
So because of being a Christian, anytime you ask a Christian something they will, or should base it on the Word of God. To me, that is a compilation of writings that He gave for certain men to write over these many years so that His words could be handed down to His children in these times we face now.
So in that Word, that bible....it states that Jesus is the only way to go. without Him, without belief in Him and that he was the Way that the Father sent to us to come back to Him, we could not enter into the gate, into the fold and return to our Father who made us.
People call God mean in their own misunderstanding. He is not mean, but He is jealous, and just.
Let me ask you a question: (First the scenario) You are a very powerful supernatural ruler and you have several children, and decided that they should love you on their own not because of who you are or because that you want to force them into playing zombie follower. So you send them away at birth to a school and let them learn what they wanted to learn, giving them an opportunity and hoping they would learn all they could about you, even sending teachers along the way to try and point them in the right direction and they ignored all.
Instead they kill most of the teachers, break every single rule you set out for them to follow. Murder their own people, destroy lives and pretty much completely act in opposite of you.
Here are the questions: When you come to see them and finally bring them back home, would you be angry that you gave them every chance and they blew it?
Would you tell them to leave your sight, because they don't love you (your main goal) nor anything you stand for?
It is written that God is "long suffering" which means that he is very patient with us and will give us every opportunity to follow Him. after that very long time though, he will punish those who choose his rival, by sending them to Gehenna(Lake of Fire and Brimstone) with that enemy that lead them away.
When you ask if you will rot in "hell", I assume you mean the Gehenna, and not Hades or Tartaroo, or Sheol, which were all translated into English as "hell"
No one will rot in Gehenna, they will cease to exist as their true self touches the consuming fire(God) and are destroyed forever and ever. True Death,
Now if someone were to die today not believing, they would go into a place called Hades in the Greek. It's a cold dark prison awaiting the judgment, but at judgment it's the final sentence.
Sorry for the long winded answer, but hey I am sure that most on here will agree when I say, "All Christian fanatics are long winded and cant' stop spouting off things that are plain banter to those who do not believe.
I am not a fanatic, just a true believer and studier of the Word of God. nothing more.
Hope you find your answer bro,
CT

Jesus had a half-brother named Thomas, because Joseph was a widower when he married Mary and had children from a prior marriage. Thomas wrote a Gospel that Early Church Fathers decided, Christians are not supposed to know about, so they omitted it from the New Testament. Thomas said, "Salvation comes from knowledge, not from the death and resurrection of Jesus". "When you know yourself, you become knowledge and you realize that you are the sons of the living father". "If you don't know yourself, you live in poverty and you become that poverty". There are many ways to get to Heaven. Christianity acts like the own the keys but they are actually hiding many of the other keys to Heaven that do exist.

If you believe you will, yes. If you believe you'll die and heaven will be a golf course, it will. If you believe it will be a race track, it will. Heaven is subjective. The only way it could be heaven is if it is exactly what you expect it to be. If I died and heaven was a golf course, it wouldn't be heaven for me. I think golf is a ridiculous waste of time. It all depends on what you believe. No one on Earth knows your destiny or where you will spend eternity. Don't let people make you think otherwise.

Every religion has different rules and regs. on how to get into Heaven. There are religions that feel that you have to be a CERTAIN specific religion in order to get in. There are religions that don't recognize Jesus in the scheme of things.
You certainly are not destined to rot in hell. Explore religions until you find the one that fits your beliefs.

You are right to question the sanity and credibility of a theology that puts Adolf Hitler - a practising Catholic and hence saved - in Heaven - yet the millions of Jews he exterminated - not Christians and hence lost - in Hell.
Mad is too kind a word for it.
But rest assured, there is no heaven and no hell.

Your friend seems to be blinded by ignorance. Your statement sounds like the Atheist's Wager where as your friends seems to be stuck on Pascal's Wager.
Look I do not believe god, but if god did exist I'd take the Atheist's Wager and be judged for my actions rather than just believing in god and not doing good deeds or doing good deed just to impress god.
