If we're equal, we should have equal treatments, right?

If women are allowed in the military, why are they excluded from the selective service? If men and women are EQUAL (LEGALY to say the least) why do men HAVE to register for selective service By LAW or face penalties (according to the law), and women just don't have to register at all?

Men have been weak in this matter. They should not fight for selective service for women. That's a cowardly cop-out of the real issue and the real battle. Men should fight for no selective service for males. Duh.

Absolutely! Within reason. I personally would have no problem blowing someone's head off. And it wouldnt take much to get me there. Unfortunately most women are far to emotional and sensitive and couldnt take the life of another human being? Do you want to risk your safety and possibly life because women are forced to go out on the front lines? All because a few or many even marched with picket signs claiming we are all equal. Past that you have to address reproduction. What happens when a woman ends up in a coma and shes 4 mo pregnant? Do we give pregnancy tests daily and hope for the best? Or deal with a whole bunch of law suits from family members and or liberals who want to drag an issue out in court for years and years? Perhaps the most logical thing would be to evaluate draftees a little better and those men who are truly opposed to killing in war could be switched for a volunteer woman who would make a very good soldier. So yes, we should include women. Not mandatory though.

women is not an appendage of men! nor was women created / taken out of adam's rib. this theory has led to the subjugation of women till today. this is a wrong perception. in the bahai writings [www.bahai.org], women was created as an equal to men. hence it is timely that they are given their rightful place in the governance of society.
it is also interesting that it is said that if we can afford to send only one child for education [school], we should send the girl for she is the primary care-giver. the inculcation of values / morality etc comes from the mother. hence we can see the injustice women have suffered in so many societies from west to east. its like a two wings of a bird - both have to be strong to fly. similarly when women take their rightful place in governance, we would see the possible reduction of wars for no mother would want to see her son killed [except for those in palestine]. also we can notice how women are being exploited. in sri lanka - nearly all the tamil tigers suicide bombers are girls - young ones. geeee! when will we wake up....?

Maybe if we did, we would not want to go to war so much. It's like allowing rich people in the selective service.

Of course, if a woman selects the service, she should be included.

I wold love to share every service with women, i love women but i am afraid they are not able to do everything. Even if the woman is smart her brain reaction is always slower and body strangth much weaker than mens. And they r too much emotional on everything than men. However no man is goo enough to love as good as they do, so let them do that only

Good question. I have never felt that we should be treated as equals because physically we just aren't. I guess we should include them.
