I have no life. I go to work. I come home. That's it. Sometimes I long to go out and do things, but whenever I do go hang out with people, I remember why I don't do it in the first place. I spend my evenings at home, playing video games, starting weird craft projects, etc. I have some sort of sick superiority complex, and the stupidity of the general public annoys me to the point that I cannot even deal with it. My husband is the only person who doesn't annoy me. Wtf is wrong with me?? I think I just worry, because I truly don't see anything wrong with how I am acting, but my former friends seem to be worried. Is anyone else this way, or have opinions on it?

i can understand your problem...you need to try hanging out with "posh" people ...go to nice expensive places...if you can ...even just save up and go once a month...take your husband and if you still find people annoying you then the 2 of you can have a laugh at them

Why do you have to socialize? Can't you go and do things alone? Or with your hubby? I don't think you have a sick superiority complex. The general public is quite stupid in my opinion. I went to a horse show by myself and sat there and had to listen to the idiot behind me on her cell phone chatting about mundane idiosys while I am trying to watch a sporting event? She didn't appreciate my interruption to her conversation. Don't worry. And who cares what your former friends think? If you and your husband are happy, good for you. At least you have him! If you long to do things, pick the ones that work for you and manage them, like going to the zoo first thing in the morning to avoid the idiots making stupid monkey sounds standing next to you.

A lot of people don't go out much, even if they wont admit it, it doesn't mean you have no life

I think your friends(former?) are only worried incase you're missing out on things. My advice would be start accepting EVERY invitation you get, you will get invited to things, especially this time of year when everyone has christmas parties and christmas drinks. Dont turn down an invitation, i never do, for each event you get invited to you'll get invited back again and to other things aswell. I dont always enjoy myself every time, there's usually an idiot or several that always seems to lurk and ruin things, but the fact is you went and you're better than the idiots

I have some form of social phobia. For me at least, it's different to how you feel. I don't do things because I'm scared basically. I'm scared of how people will perceive me - that they'll think I'm stupid. For example - job interviews are my hell because I always think that when the interviewer sees me for the first time, they'll think "she must be stupid to ever think that we'd give her a job". Crazy but true. I also hate being on buses by myself - I'm scared that when I stand up I'll do something stupid and everyone will look at me. I even plan my exit - look at where the bell is, plan how I'll walk to it, press it and walk to the front of the bus.
Anyway, take a look at some fo these websites. They might help you:

you sound pretty normal to me, your pretty damn lucky your husband doesn't you (yet) though, lol. When I was younger (early 20's) I was pretty much the same way, but I got over it, at some point I accepted that most people really aren't that interesting or intelligent (I no longer expected people to be rational) and learned to just ignore most of them or find humor in all the nonsense. I never really stayed in though, most of my hobbies take me outdoors (photography, fly fishing, hunting) but for the most part they are still solitary hobbies.
