I doubt it,
DEI didn't really care about JR,
And Hendrick has good cars and equpitment,
He will not blow an engine,

You cant blame the drivers for a majority of the blow ups. DEI undoubtedly has a predicament with their Engines. If you seem on the season as a entire the blown up engine stats with Hendrics are this. DEI 7 to Hendricks one million. Jr. has four, Truex has two and Menard has one. Also maintain in brain that DEI best had two drivers making each and every race. Hendricks has four drivers in each and every race they usually nonetheless controlled to stomp them within the engine division. The lone blow up from Hendricks used to be Casey Mears on the Dodge Avenger 500. You remove Jr's blown engines and either one of Truex' blown engines and they're with no trouble within the chase correct now.

Ok here's a little fact for you, in the 2005 and 2006 seasons Jr had 3 engine related DNF's, that's right 3 engines in 2 years. Enter the 2007 season all of a sudden he blows 7 engines(sorry folks that's not the driver) Anyone remember the the spring California race where Truex lost the engine only 75 laps into the race. Let's not forget the Talladega debacle, 7 engines between DEI and RCR cars 4 (Jr,Truex, Almirola, and Burton) blow up, and 1 (Harvick) running on 7 cylinders. Oh yeah look at the 01 car before(running HMS engines) and after the merger. The 01 didn't have engine troubles with the HMS engines.
Bizz, Truex lost 3 engines this year, including one that didn't last half a race. One was at California, another at Talladega, and I forgot where the 3rd one was.

I don't expect HMS's engine department will emplode.

In 2007, HMS lost one engine when Mears had one let go at Darlington on lap 345 of 367.

Six engines were lost by teams that day between lap 310 and lap 361.

DEI wasn't one of those teams.

Darlington is brutal to engines because, except for lifting slightly entering turn 3, drivers are on the gas from exit of turn 2 all the way to turn 1. If your rev limiter indicator isn't flashing entering 1, you're not going fast enough.

If everyone recalls, Robby Gordon used to run DEI engines. When he announced he was changing engine suppliers, he went through a spate of blown engines before the cutover.
He felt DEI started giving him experimental stuff.

In 2007, DEI/Childress had something like 14 engines let go. Teams are being pressed to keep up with HMS engines.

In the last 72 races HMS has lost 6 engines.

It will be hard for him to shine with Gordon and Johnson. Jr will be like dwarf star to a pair of galactic super nova's. Time will only tell how well he will do. I do not think that Jr's problem was DEI or Theresa. We as fans can speculate or draw our own conclusions, but bottom line is that team could no longer compete at the level expected. Why Rick Hendrick would bring Tony Jr over as well I'll never know. I think he just transferred the problem to another team.

I`d say he will let him run 2 years,
The first year to let the people know Teresa wasn`t out to get him, The second year maybe with a rev.limiter or something
The motors he blew up were, Richard Childres Motors( they
say), And he has always had the best built motors in nascar.
I don`t think Teresa Earnhardt is the wicked stepmother
all the Dale Jr fans think she is, But there does seem to
be a problem with Teresa and Jr relationship,,when a person is unhappy about ANYTHING it will show up in
EVERYTHING they do...
Lets just hope it doesn`t happen at HMS.
Dale Jr deserves better, and so does Hendrick
They both put lots of hard work into racing

if he starts FUBARing motors like he did at DEI....then I'll know it is the driver and not the motor that's the problem, but..
Agree with me or not, I don't think he was getting the best that DEI had to offer as far as equipment went. As soon as they knew he was gone at the end of the season, I think they said, "Ahhhhhhhh f*ck it", and went about the running of Jr.'s team in a very half-assed manner.

Maybe at Hendrick he'll get a fair shake.

Jr races hard the fact is dei has had trouble with their engines all season .going to Hendrick may be the best move for Jr . now if there is that problem they wont keep him around but he wont stay unemployed long there are many teams that would love to have him racing for them

This is an interesting question. If you look at the DNF's, Truex only had 4.....not sure how many of those were due to blown motors. Could it be possible that Jr. is too hard on the equipment? I would think it would have been noticed by one of the experts in the sport by now.....but you never know. I certainly don't believe the conspiracy theory that DEI and the "evil stepmother" sabotaged his equipment, that's for sure. That's just stupid to intentionally lose races for your team.

It was not Dale Jr's fault that his car engines blew. He did not blow them. He had more blown engines than anyone. Even his teammate Martin Truex did not have as many as he did. Everytime Jr. was doing good in a race and was in the top 5-10. near the end of the race, his engine would let go, a tire would come completely off of someone wrecks him. Hendricks engines will be good for him. I just wish Jeff Gordon wasnt his teammate

I'm trying to count how many engines Hendrick cars blew last year....7 blown motors at Hendrick is not going to happen..If he even blows one, we all will be saying the teresa paid some HMS guy to let it happen....I do not see any blown motors for Jr next yr and Rick will be happy with the results.
