First of all lets make one thing clear: Cappadocia is an area, not a city. It covers Nevsehir, Aksehir, Nigde, Kayseri and relatively smaller towns such as Urgup , Goreme, Uchisar, Avanos, Sinasos etc..

I think you should decide what you want to see in Cappadoica area first, then make up a route.

If you are only interested in seeing the Open Air Museum, you can take a bus to Nevsehir and then another one to Goreme.. That is an option..

Half day is definitely not enough to see the rest and barely be enough for the museum tour but it will allow you to get an opinion about the area , therefore you can plan your next visit accordingly.:)

Hope you have a great time
