I've been having some odd muscular spasms/twitches in my calf muscles recently. It feels like a small static shock in one place particularly in my left calf. Also after exercising my calf muscles seem to become really stiff and solid, which makes the spasms more frequent. Anyone have ideas or similar experiences to this and know what could be causing it?

Twitching, spasms and cramps are often caused by a magnesium deficiency.

I have been going to Doctors for over 3 years trying to get an answer to this same questions. Thousands of dollars latter and still no clue.

I also have sever muscular cramps and more accurately "Charlie Horses" that at times have me wanting to simply blow my brains out. The pain is indescribable.

My treatment Ativan, Soma and pain medication in sufficient dose to prevent the onset of the muscle cramps to begin with. Although, life is not perfect and this dose not always work at least it affords me some weapon against this madness.

You could be having a problem with low potassium levels but the only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be causing this.
