I'm serious. Does anyone want to change their beliefs? Not most. Why waste our time? I hate to say this, but I think we have no choice but to let the big boys handle it. I just hope they do the right thing. Whatever that might be.

If you want answers, go somewhere else. It's sad to say, but there are too many opinions here when science fact is needed.

Actual scientific data can be seen with the link.

Is it worth it? Well we keep coming back. People like to talk about things particularly those things that, well, everyone is talking about.

YA's global warming area is quite obviously just a political talk show (there are a couple of science oriented people here but they are drowned out) with a few "do my homework for me" questions along the way. Sure there are some here whose background on the subject is about a day or two of looking up weird theories on the net and then suddenly they are an expert.

But this subject can be overwhelming for some, the idea too scary to face. Humans are masters of denial, you are seeing it in action.

It's worth it. I'm a mid aged boomer who until this year thought very little of the environment. I didn't recycle or worry about the effect my choices made on the environment.

I think the continual discussion and publicity all of a sudden got my attention. I also moved to a state that is very environmentally aware. Everyone on our block and in our neighborhood recycles and so that is where it started with me. My family thinks I am now obsessed with it since I insist that every piece of paper, cardboard, tin can, glass bottle and qualifying plastic doesn't get thrown into the trash can by accident.

I have just placed my first order this week for phosphate free, enviro friendly dishwasher soap and laundry soap. I'm trying to buy enviro friendly products and products that use less packaging. I now use a dairy that delivers our dairy in reusable milk jugs AND whose trucks run on natural gas for cleaner burning. My son's tennis balls are recycled to the animal shelter for one more go around for the dogs who want a toy. Our worn blankets were recently cut up and made into small, washable blankets for the cats at the shelter.

Though I'm older, I am a baby at this. I know I can probably do a whole lot more to help the environment than these things if I just knew how. I would really enjoy getting any ideas you have of things I can do to do more. Please let me know...I want to do alot more!

And thanks for a great question and your concern for our earth too....

With all due repsect to the people that use this forum, there aren't that many that understand enough about global warming and climate change to arrive at an educated and objective opinion. Many simply obtain a few facts from the media then derive their own conclusions based on very limited, and often inaccurate, information.

There are of course some that are more open minded than others and I know several people have formed opinions based on the questions and answers provided here, several people have e-mailed me to say as much (I won't mention any names, they may want to identify themselves but that's up to them).

At the end of the day, the number of people who use this forum and get their information from it is minute compared to the greater population. The popular media such as TV is by far and away the primary source of information for most people.

haha.. sometime saving the resources and decrease the carbon dioxide or monoxide will only slow down the process of making the earth hot..!!! and not making global warming stop..!!!
if human wants to imporve or upgrade their technology and gets to the next generations where the cars can fly in the air..!!! etc.. we human have to burn more resources and making the earth getting hotter..!!! all this is way too difficult for the big boys can handle or make amend to what we human have done..!!!
discussing about global warming is useless, the big guys should think of ways to get rid of all the heat that is trapped in the heart and also cover up the holes in the ozone layers which is expanding as we talk and also the cow to releasing the methane from the *** hole into the air which also causing the ozone layer to have a hole.. And not talking about what causes the earth to heat up, the ice cap melt and ozone layer having a hole..

No it won't get any where on Yahoo answers. However, I for one as a skeptic enjoy reading the answers that people give so that I can look up the information in the answers that back global warming and try to either understand or come up with questions for them or the big boys.

I don't care what anyone says about global warming really.

What I know is that I can see for myself every year that the seasons are all screwed up because the snow is still on the ground in May (well after the 'first day of spring') and hits the ground in October (technically still autumn, isn't that?).

You must think you really know something. There aren't any big boys, the minute a politician starts slapping a tax on Americans based on shaky theories and crude computer models about what might happen in the future, that politician will be voted out of office. Capitalism will find an alternative fuel, and climate will have no impact on that discovery, security is the main issue now.

The truth is out there! Or so they say on the X files! The "big boys" have their beliefs and mathematical models which to date MAY or MAY NOT be accurate-------- no matter how BIG they are -------- they cannot FULLY explain the temperature variations on planet Earth over say the last 5 million years........ much less the last 2 billion years!...........nor can they exactly locate the thermostat that controls the Earth's temperature.

no it not really a good subject to discuss.

As everyone has there own opinion and you cnt change every opinion so the best thing is to stay out of it n let it be.
All it is the earth is going through it changes and ppl should stop worrying about it. it done this before n nothing bad happened as what say it goin be bad this time. well that just my opinion.
