Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) believers recognise that global warming is happening and that it is caused by human activity.
Those who deny AGW often claim that the believers are kill joys because they want to deny people their cars, foreign holidays and other causes of global warming.
It is understandable that those who are addicted to consumerism should attack those who criticise them. Addicts often deny that their addiction is doing them any harm and attack those who try to help. But it is worth recognising that a simple lifestyle can be much healthier and happier than consumerism.
For example travel by public transport, pedalling and walking is far more fun than driving in congested conditions. It will also raise your level of fitness so that you will be able to enjoy many more active pursuits.
I certainly have more fun since I realised there is no point in trying to keep up with the neighbours buying habits. I hope others will realise it too so that we can all enjoy a happier healthier life and leave a cleaner less troubled world for future generations.
