Tomorow is my sister's in law baby shower, and she is having a girl. I dont know what to get her, I mean I kinda do but I dont know if it would a good idea. I ve never been to a baby shower. I was thinking to just get some kinda cute little outfit and like a cute picture frame. Do you think thats a good idea. What do people usually get for baby showers???????

good idea, but get an outfit thats about 3-6 months, cos people always get newborn size, and the baby doesnt get chance to wear them all before it grows out of that size! socks are good too, and even toiletries and nappies. dont forget that mum to be wont have much time for herself so pampering things for her are always good.

Clothes and frames are cute but unoriginal and in the end, useless. Clothes get outgrown and frames get dusty.
I would think a bit outside the square and start with mum first....get her something lovely as she has to do all the hard work and should get rewarded. Something like..
Voucher for a pedicure since she can probably not reach her toes anymore, lol
A pamper pack; get a lovely box and put in creams, shampoos, face masks, exfoliating scrubs etc....things she can use and take to hospital when its her time
Voucher for a photo sitting after baby is born or whilst she is pregnant
A lovely soft bath robe to rug up in and take to hospital, along with some slippers.
A subscription to a parenting/baby magazine
Scrapbooking or family photo album from Anne Geddes or the like
Diaper service
For baby....(get something really useful and/or a little original, something others are unlikely to think of) like...
Beautiful embroidered cot blanket
baby manicure set with combs, brushes, nail clippers etc..
digital baby thermometer
Framed pictures for the nursery walls
Wall hangings
Babies 'first tooth, first curl' box set
silver music box (target have some you turn the 'winder' and they slowly spin around playing soft lullaby)
silver birth certificate holder
'Diaper cake'
small toys are often overlooked too.
Everyone gets heaps of clothes, so it would be nice to get her something she could keep as a 'keep sake' for when her child gets older that she can say "aunty xxxxx" bought this for you.....

The most use full gifts I got where a "vaporizer and a humidifier" i needed them so often. A diaper bag is good. Baby carrier, Bibs. A baby lamp that plays music, A baby photo album. A mobile that turns and plays music for over the crib. Also socks booties or little shoes. Just walk down the infant isle and it will all come to you. Have fun Auntie lol

Get her a basket gift made by you...and she'll need this stuff! Fill the following things in a laundry basket... older infant diapers, past newborn...everyone gives the Mom newborn diapers! She just ends up with 5000 newborn diapers when the child isn't a newborn anymore...she'll remember you when she pulls out of the closet the bigger diapers. Tylenol....she'll use that within the first few days, a really nice robe, put the Tylenol in the pocket of the robe. Trust me they go together! And wrap it all in terry cloth towels. It will be the best gift at the Baby Shower!

For baby showers, people can give anything from new outfits to picture frames to gift cards for the mother once she recovers from child birth. My sister had a baby shower not too long ago and someone gave her a Target gift card and a spa trip. So anything like what i mentioned should be fine.

That gift would be perfect.
For a baby shower,you just get the mother stuff for the baby.
Diapers,clothes,toys,gift cards,blankets,bottles,etc..

anything that a baby would need.as in anything.even infant toys.just go to the infants section in a mall or baby store and you won't get lost.the best part of it-it comes from the heart.so whatever you feel like giving,be it.
