What if someone did it today?
What if someone claimed to be the second son of God, made miracles and posted photographs and videos on youtube all over the internet as proof and went around to all the chatrooms of the world to spread the joy and love and forgiveness that God had to offer them.
Some people would admire him for being such a nice person, but would they really "follow" him?
Would people still be downloading and reading his ebook 2,000 years after he was resurrected? Would they think that the ebook written by his top 12 friends on facebook was his clear message to humanity?
Sorry about all the technological references, but I wanted it in modern terms. Would people really be willing to believe Jesus if he still was born in the 20th/21st century?
I really think that the "historical factor" has a lot to do with belief .

Sorry, I neglected to mention it could have been the daughter of God instead.

great question! I agree with you that the "historical factor" has a lot to do with belief, I think most people now would demand absolute proof, but of course, there would still be those who would blindly follow!

MONO-, the prefix of the word translated "One and only," "unique," or maybe "only begotten" means ONE... Another coming along would automatically be FALSE.
- This is a problem with eschatologies, like Watchtower's, that think Jesus will be born as a human again to grow up and ultimately lead people. This denies several passages. His return is described as a climactic event, not the quiet birth of another infant.
2Peter 3:7 BY GOD’S WORD THE HEAVENS AND EARTH OF TODAY ARE BEING RESERVED FOR FIRE. They are being kept for the day when God will judge. Then ungodly people will be destroyed.
8 Dear friends, here is one thing you must not forget. With the Lord a day is like a thousand years. And a thousand years are like a day.
9 The Lord is not slow to keep his promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. He is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, he wants all people to turn away from their sins.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. THE HEAVENS WILL DISAPPEAR WITH A ROAR. FIRE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING IN THEM. God will judge the earth and everything in it.
11 So EVERYTHING WILL BE DESTROYED. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives.
12 Live like that as you look forward to the day of God. It will make the day come more quickly. ON THAT DAY FIRE WILL DESTROY THE HEAVENS. ITS HEAT WILL MELT EVERYTHING IN THEM.

It is my imformation that there is no such being known as the one and only son of God .We are all sons of God and some of the greatest teachers that have come down the ages only demonstrated for us all the one divine reality that man and God have always been one with each other. We are all sons of God in the same way as the man Jesus was who demonstrated this reality for us all.

It would reduce the importance of Jesus'; sacrifice for us...so it will never happen.
(1 PETER 3:18) Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit.
ONCE FOR ALL TIME...

1. The President /or Govenor wouldn't have him killed.
...so no ressurection.
2. The religious orders might sue him.....or defame him in the media. But nobody is going to kill him.
3. He might get his own TV show, unless he did the oh dont tempt god thing.
4. Jesus Christ doesnt appear to have really been super famous until about 300 years following his death. Opps!
Sermon on the mount aside....only one non-christian even mentions his name in any non-christian text. (jo-SEA-phus) not sure of how its really spelled.

He would get his a-s-s kicked by "Christians" most likely - probably even crucified again.
I can't imagine why not. Back in Christ's time, the supposedly "true" followers of GOD who were backsliding into lives of sin destroyed Jesus the first time. I imagine if he came back and admonished the greater Christian community for humiliating him and insulting GOD by worshipping a man as GOD, they would probably cry "heresy" and stone him.

It is unlikely in the extreme that such a person would be recognized as such. Any claims would be scrutinized vigorously.

this is not a prophecy to be fulfilled so ur Q does not hold any water.
coming of Christ was a prophecy in OT and the second coming is also prophesied but not as a child.
its not "historical factor" but is "prophecy factor"

this question has replace right into a debate or dissertation, not a question. the respond is common, the God of Jesus is "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (one million Peter one million:3, New worldwide version) The God of Jesus is an identical One whom Jesus spoke of as his Father. an identical One to whom Jesus prayed and spoke of as Father and "the sole real God." (John 17:one million, 3) an identical One Jesus spoke of as "your Father and my Father, your God and my God." (John 20:17)
