generally, it's not that bad. I've been with a black girl 11 years my junior, and the relationship lasted for 4 years. It didn't work out in the end, but age wasn't the problem, neither was the color. But in your freind's case, she's underage. this guy should know better and leave her alone, and your freind should take it easy and enjoy being that age with freinds or bfs her own age group.
P.S: you can also use our honest opinion on this site to try to let her see things more clearly.

Sweetie,
You are right to be concerned about your friend. If he were 62 and she were 50, then no one would bat an eyelash, but there is an enormous difference between 17 and 29. He is an adult, she is not.
It's awfully exciting to think that an older man would be interested in a school girl, but you should remind her that she should be with guys closer to her own age. 17 & 29 have so little in common. They are different worlds.
Try to get her to see that there is something wrong when a man acts interested in such a young girl. You are right that he probably wants (ya kno) with a young girl and that's it. Remind her that a lot of bad things can come from that.
Mostly, you need to be a real friend and tell her that you are concerned for her well being - listen when she argues with you - and calmly try to make her see things from an outside perspective.
Good Luck, I hope you can persuade her to give him up.

How do you know what he is interested in? They can date after she's 18; and she'll soon be!
A 29 year old virgin is a million times better than a 18 year old jerk!
Get real. Age is not everything!
Edit:
Yeah, now I see what your concern is. OK so why do you think his being black and her being white will make a difference? If they are dating now, it is definitely a matter of concern and you should try your level best to persuade her out of it. But if she is 18 and dates, then it is completely legal!
Edit:
Also, please consider this. Is there any guarantee that if she dates a 18 year old white, he will not get her pregnant and desert her?
If you have reasons to believe that the man is not good, try your level best to talk her out of it. Better still, find a guy for him and arrange a date for them!
Good luck!
IM me if you want to share something which you are not comfortable sharing on Yahoo! Answers. You are always welcome!

If your friend was 25 then no12 years is nothing. At 17, it's WAY TO BIG AN AGE GAP.
He was a loser in high school and figured out a few things about womenand now that he's older and is making up for lost opportunity

.02 cents... 12 years, not if he's 46 and she's 34 (or vice versa)
17 and 29, yeah, that's a big one.
People mature from 13-18, then 18-25, 25-30, and after 30 it's just one big sloping hill down...
My opinion, my experiences...

Btw just curious where a seventeen year old girl find a 29 year old! have they known each other long?

First of all, if this is in the US, that's statutory rape.
Second, I would be wildly suspicious why a 29 year old man is hanging with a 17 year old. Would you have to stalk around a high school for that kind of thing?
He sounds like bad news

She is too young to be mature enough for a man of 29. That man is not looking for anything but sex. He should be ashamed of himself fooling with a minor's head like that. If they were both over 25, there would be more compatability mentally. Right now, I can guarantee you that it is physical for him!!!

Maybe your friend sees all the qualities she's been looking in a guy.... loving...caring.... macho image...protective....romantic....
Don't worry.... let her enjoy for now .... it won't last....nothing is permanent in this word... remember?
