We came to your aid during World War I and World War II. We came to France's aid in French Indochina. Why do you hate us now? We fought for the British in Iraq after the British partioned off Kuwait. We fought for the British after they created the division of India and Pakistan, politically if not by war. We came to Britain's aid wherever Britian or France has needed us. So why now, do you hate us and resent us for our follies?

Thank God. Afterall, we love the British..all of them. The French? Well, we take them as allies like we would a step brother. We hate them but God help anyone who messes with them.

What is all that crap? Many people have taken citizenship in another country, because, for example, the British were oppresive assholes at that time. You definitely wrote too much to read. Did you copy and paste all that?

Quit compelling us to butt in and we will stay home. We have plenty room to roam here. We don't live on small island or within small borders. We rule the world wherever we go, but we as Americans prefer to rule at home.

Interesting 8,946 word read. I believe that the world is too chaotic for such a plan to exist. However, I do believe that there are things going on that few know about and the rest of us are mere pawns. Thanks for the novel.

Ever lived in the UK or Europe? It's a past time for them. Don't let it bother you. Don't let haters influence you.
I'm so sick of people like TedEx (ESPECIALLY when they're gullible Americans) who say disagreeing with policy is different from hating Americans. Even if you didn't live with Brits like myself and another poster on this question did, you've seen the bigotry on this site and most of the hatred spewed by Brits towards Americans has absolutely nothing to do with politics.
Why Americans choose to ignore their mindless bigotry and parrot the "We don't hate you, we hate your government" ignornat excuse, I'll never understand. Bigotry and intolerance is wrong, even when Brits do it, and it does create hatred. Believe me, you Americans who have never lived outside our borders, the Brits are not just cheery chaps like the Beatles and Monty Python. Get over the stereotype.
-- as you can see from clint's answers, it's because "American tourists are loud" -- there you have it, intolerance of other cultures, therefore they hate. Ignorant bigotry.

Haven't you heard the British took part in the Iraq invasion in 2003 AND they are still there. They do not hate the USA. The British public resents an invasion of Iraq over weapons of mass destruction that did not exist!
Chirac warned the USA and Uk about the invasion of Iraq and the resulting chaos it would bring. It appears he was right!
The British and French took part in the Korean war even though both nations were bankrupt from World War 2 and had military crisis in Asia of their own.
To say that Britian and France "hates" the USA is not true and bad history. I was stationed in Europe with the US Army in the 1980's at the height of the anti-Nuclear campaign and never encountered anti-Americanism from either country except from the occasional drunk.
The truth of the matter is Britian and France need the USA and the USA needs the British and French to create peace and stability in the world. The myth is the USA does it all by itself and no one helps. Nonsense!

What?
Because I'm french I'm supposed to hate the USA? I think that in France we love critiquize every things (France include, some best selers in France are about "how France is so weak and will become more weak in th futur"), it's a kind of "national sport". So if you come in France oneday be sur that you will heard critics about USA (specialy USA gouvernment ;) ) but that doesn't mean that we hate USA, so don't take this personnaly.
Maybe It's come from our education: in school we learn to make essay based on thesis and antithesis.

Europeans don't hate Americans, that's what watching to much FOX does.
In my opinion the majority of the hate goes the other way on these forums. Most of the Europeans either see teasing American as a game, for some reason Americans don't seem to understand sarcasm, or pity they for their poor social systems (health care, America only Education, bad employee rights, etc).
Why has the rest of the world got such bad opinions of Americans? Tourists and military. American tourist are famous as being loud, rude, uncultured and insulting to the locals (plus why is every always bigger in the USA). The military are seen as poorly trained, gun happy cowboys, who are only a power due to the technology. There are several saying about friendly fire, which seems to be very common when America is involved in anything.
As for the world wars you were late to both of them. Waiting to see who would win were we? Why was it the last time the UK went to war against a country America refused to help, Falklands 1982, whilst the UK has come to Americas aid when requested?

I'm from America, and believe me when I say I don't see any reason why a French or British citizen would feel all gushy or grateful for what America "did" for them over 50 years ago, probably before they were born. Do you feel grateful for how the French pulled the colonial army out of the fire in the Revolutionary war? or how about the bargain they gave us on the Louisiana Purchase? How often do those things cross your mind? Never. No one thinks about stuff like that. People's impressions of America come from the fact that they are the only ones running around invading crappy countries like Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of justice. America has a very aggressive foreign policy, there's no denying it.

Because the French and the British are....how should I say this? Pansies. They run to the U.S. when they need help, then shun them when they don't. They're a bunch of stuffy, uptight pricks who only use the U.S. for its superior tactics, skill, resources, and man power. When the U.S. asks them to return the favor, they kick us in the balls and tell us that OUR war is unjustified.. Hey, France, remember the Terror, then tell us that we're unjustified.

WWI and WWII was over long , long ago. I think it's long past the time when we have any right to remind Britain and France how we bailed them out during that time.
Hating us and disagreeing with our policies are two different things.
