not really the old style ufc wasn't really that exiting to me but ZI still loved to watch, I think is set up fights that were more along the lines of one martial arts versus another not just everyone being well rounded in sorts of different martial arts. I do however think that it is a far cry from actuall mma, due to all the rules restictions with no, wrist locks, pressure points, knees and kicks to the head while on the ground. I mean if your going to call it Mixed martial arts then you should include any and all forms of martial arts and not block certain aspects of martial arts. The ufc to me is more hand to hand combat with rule restictions and not mixed martial arts.

Because Royce Gracie didn't take the fight to the ground right? You haven't watched any MMA have you? Shamrock and Gracie went 36 minutes to a draw, all grappling. Shamrock and Taktarov went 33 to a draw. There was plenty of "boring wrestling around on the ground" back then. Stop making things up and pay attention.
There's nothing you can do about the change of fighter styles. Why? Because what idiot would go in there with only one style, when they could be good at everything and actually win?

yes and no the rules keep them safe, but if those guys back then didn't have all those different stiles UFC wouldn't be what it is today...Those guys started putting the stiles together,if you haven't seen the old UFC you need to watch them, one of the best fighters to ever grace the UFC was Don FRYE he really changed thing allot in my mind, and he is still good,so watch the old and the new ITS ALL GOOD,oh yeah Mark Coleman too.

it was cool to see style versus style, but those matches ended up being one sided and the guys werent that skilled, it is way better now theres alot more skill, in the first few ufcs the fighters were over hyped and did not have nearly the ability or accomplishments they were said to have. most of the rules today didnt come in to play in those old fights anyway, just groin shots and downword elbows

I think less rules would help. I don't see any reason (besides Nevada) there shouldn't be kicking of downed opponents. Pride did it. But even still, UFC is not boring in any aspect. If you only want to see one dimensional stand up fighting, watch boxing.

Not really because none of those guys back then were well rounded. And there have been a lot of exciting fights this year. Go watch Tyson Griffin vs Clay Guida or Nick Diaz vs Takanori Gomi.

I like both old and newer UFC. But I would like to see style vs style again. The fighter vs fight is way cool also.

the quantity of stamina utilized in MMA is plenty diverse than boxing yet you're stunning that lots of the decrease point athelets at the instant are not very conditioned besides the undeniable fact that lots of the better end ones have dazzling conditioning and stamina. I even have seen boxers who lost their steam in 3 rounds on the elite point besides so it is going the two tactics.

It usually is more exciting to people who have no idea about the sports strategy. I personally like it now a lot better than before.
