So my boyfriend and I have a long distance relationship of about hour in a half drive. Well i get to see him every weekend but the thing is over the time that we talk on the phone he says more sweet words to me, than when we are hanging out together face to face. I'm not really sure why it is like that. Im actually the opposite. Im not as sweet on the phone but when he is here next to me..that's when i keep telling him he's my everthing, etc etc..he's the opposite. I don't understand..could it be because he's shy? but what are some reasons that could mean a bad thing? knowing him there's no way he's shy...so would else could be a reason? Could be that just in general guys hesitate to show all their feelings and be so open about feelings and express them in order to act more "manly" .....?

I think he may be shy. It may be easier for him to speak sweetly over the phone than in person where he sees you.

Hey just coz he isn't as sweet in person to you doesn't necessarily have to be negative. Maybe he just finds it easier to communicate his sweet side on the phone instead of face to face. He might not be your stereotypical shy guy but he may be a little shyer(is that a word:s) in person than on the phone.

I can think of "some reasons that could mean a bad thing?" but it is useless me cooking up stories and planting negative ideas in your head. If you trust him and everything 'feels right' don't worry. Maybe it'll just take him some more time to get as comfortable as he is on the phone. Also you speak to him on the phone more often than you actually meet him so that could be a reason too.

And yes guys do like to act 'manly' lol. Nothing to worry about.

Take it easy, Don't worry yourself.

Ok, I know that in my relatationship that I'm in, we're 2 1/2 hours away & she always wants 2 talk on the phone all day, everyday. And alot of times it's too much 4 me. Not that I don't wanna talk 2 her, but just that when we r 2gether there's nuthin much left 2 say 2 oneanother. Ya know? Try either cutting yr conversations down 2 a minimum when u do talk, or talk less inbetween the times that u see oneanother. Then if that doesn't help then I have no other choice but 2 say that He's probably full of it and might b seeing others on the side. When people are w/u and act like u get on their nerves when they r w/u & not when yr just on the phone,it usually means that their just tryin ta keep u hangin on & when they do spend time w/u it seems like a chore or sumthin like that, cause they don't wanna let go,cause they like 2 have their cake & eat it 2!!!
u know the game...& if u don't u would want 2 get hip 2 it!!! good luck & don't let no man play u girl. u know wat "Keisha Cole" says: "IF HE DON'T WANNA LUV U THE RITE WAY HE AIN'T GONNA. IT AIN'T WHERE HE'S AT, IT'S WHERE HE WANNA B"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PRIDE,FUN & LUV,ALWAYS,QUEEN-goodluck

Good question honey. We are decades older that you and it is still the same. My guess is that it has something to do with the heart grows fonder when it is apart. It's strange but it's true even if he is only two miles away at the grociery store. I don't question or knock it anymore because it is like the old adage "get it while you can." I'll take any niceness any time.

uhh? so i guess "the women speak 9000 words and men utter 3000 a day is true"!!

It's not about being shy. I talk sweet romance to my girlfriend on the phone(when i'm drunk) and am quite bland in person. Because she doesn't shut up about her feelings for me, "mikey i likey" wtf is that? That is a silly example but the more serious ones make me sleepy! So why don't you chill out some when youre together in person and see where you end up?

When there is a big difference betwen your bf's tone in his letter and his voice on the phone, he may be a person you really want to avoid. Sounds like something is really wrong there. Protect yourself.

That's because he doesn't see you face to face on the phone. He can say whatever he wants without fear of blushing or getting embarrassed. In other words, on the phone, all the shyness and the jitters go outta the window.

It seems like he could be lying to you. It is easier to lie over the phone with no face to look at. When you are face to face he has a harder time lying. He might just be into you just for the sex.

i know that it seems weird but it's hard to make any sort of speculation without hearing his voice. 'cause it will do you no good. well, it would be at its best if you will give him the benefit of the doubt and let him air his side. as someone said, one man's voice is no man's voice. the best thing that you could do is to pray for it and tell him what you exactly feel. for it is a lot better to hear it straight from him. dont worry dear, everything is alright. =)

god bless! =)

because over the phone allows him the "im not there" moments. like im with her but im not and when he's in person wit you he probably feels kinda shy or embarrased even being too sweet to you.
