Hi Monica. You're absolutely right! You cannot lose your salvation! Once someone accepts Christ as Savior, they cannot lose that. First of all, be sure your friend has had a time in your life that he's asked forgiveness of sins and asked Christ to be His Savior.
Here's a link. (I think you understand, but just in case)
http://www.bbccassville.org/plan_of_salvation.html
Now, if your friend has already once made that decision to accept Christ into his life, here are some verses to help him understand that he is eternally secure!
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
I Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Here's a really good link to explain your question biblically:

When you believe on Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you are saved. That's what it means to be a Christian. I hope I don't sound harsh, just answering your question directly. : ) Now as to a sin you didn't have a chance to repent for, well God provides for some sort of punishment for it and paying it back etc. Don't forget that there will be a thousand year reign before the great white throne Judgment Day and it is during that time that faith is no longer a factor because everyone will know the Lord and there will be no atheism. What's left at that point? Acts. I think that the key to your answer is within that idea. My opinion is that a person would have to make up for something like that with a righteous act or acts. Just my opinion though. God bless you and your studies in His Word. Get cracking! Good question. : )

First, what you want the Bible to say only says it if You or someone else has written it there because it did not come that way.
The Bible says NOWHERE that if you ask Chris into your life nothing can take that away from you. This is taught here day and night on R&S but it is not the Bible. I see it every day that I come in here, I know the Bible and it does not say that in ANY words, much less those.
If you are really interested in knowing what the Bible DOES say, feel free to e-mail and ask any question you wish. I will only answer it by the Bible and not some made up saying that will lead to hell if followed as many here do.
We must speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. We also have to know what is to us and what is to the Jews or what was to the Patriarchs.
EDIT: -- WE CAN FALL FROM GRACE----Galatians 5:2 "Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ cannot help you". 3 "I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey all of the regulations in the whole law of Moses." 4 "For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

We are under a state of grace that is ongoing. Many places the Greek verb that is used to explain our salvation and state of Grace is present active, meaning the action continues on.
St Paul talked about while he was in the flesh he still sinned. See Romans 7:16-20.
He also said Phil. 1:23-24> I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
Paul still sinned, but knew that he would go to heaven if he died.
So, as long as we remain in the faith, we have salvatio through Jesus.
I have to wonder about your friend. He MAY have intellectual objections to Christianity, but I often find that people will manufacture intellectual objections to cover the fact they would possibly have to change their life style if they became a Christian. It may not be the case, but is something to consider.

There are several groups that teach such things for instance that we must go to a priest to confess our sins in order to be forgiven. However, we (people) are not the judges of that.
The bible teaches that God looks at and judges what is in our heart/soul.
I do believe repenting of our sins and not continuing to repeat the sin is important. However, in your example, I would think a lot would depend on why and what caused the person to sin just before dieing as to how the action would be judged by Our Creator.
However as for your friend and the misconception he apparently has of Our Creator let me add this:
Never confuse the practices of the people with the church,
Never confuse the practices of the church with religion,
And Never Ever confuse the practices of religion with God.
May Our Creator bless and watch over you and your family.

To err is human to forgive is divine! All humans sin and no matter how, when, where, what,or who you sin with is not an issue. if you believe Jesus died for humanity's collective sins,
and millions have died in a state of sin because we are mortals that inherited sin from our original parents, then dying immediately after sinning should not be the basis of deciding rather or not you go to hell. Only God knows what is in your heart at the moment of birth, till the time of death.
Tell your friend that!

I don't believe that you will be judged on just one action of your life... come on, if that is the case then we all could be going to hell, who knows if there is something you have done that you have not asked for forgiveness for, (for whatever reason). I believe that God will judge me based on my heart, the way I lived my life. Not a single sin, I didn't have time to be forgiven for before I died!

if you ask the lord to be in your life and you are sincere and all then he is in your life but it doesnt mean he will stay if you dont do your part! and i dont know if you will go to hell for forgetting to ask forgiveness of one thing but i do know that you have to ask for forgiveness every time you sin but its ok if you forget sumthings. but you cant get saved and then go out and sin just because u know he'll forgive you you still have to try not to sin and be a good christian although everyone falls short of gods glory. he understands just do your part

Tell your friend if he thinks the worst of God, what makes his existence matter, for all he knows it amounts to nothing more than excrement? After-all everything surrounding us is as worthless as our belief in tomorrow. For tomorrow is another day, just like today use to be, and one day will no longer be. Everything we've ever known, ever loved, will be gone forever. When all is said and done, we're all just wasting time...and the entire point of life ...was....God.
