I always watched, every year! Now with the chase system I don't feel right about how the champion won! I'll live with it, but I don't haft to watch it! A notation should be put next to the champions name explaining the change in the way they earned it!
Just My Thoughts!!!

I know a lot of people are frustrated with the Hendrick/Jimmie domination of the last couple years but it has been awesome to watch. Of course it helps when you are a fan of the 48 team. As far as the notation comment, many post season formats have changed over the years. Everyone knows the rules when they go into it and Gordon certainly isn't making any excuses about the current format. Jimmie would still have 2 championships, he would have won under the old format in 2004 when Kurt Busch beat him by 8 points.

I am not sure if I like the Chase format just yet. This year Jimmie and Jeff were the winningest drivers in the league, so the fact they are 1 and 2 despite the format change is still reflective of winning being rewarded.

I am simply not interested in the banquet because I am not a fan of Gordon or Johnson, and my 2 favorite drivers, Edwards and Junior didn't finish where I wanted them to.

I am not sure if a notation needs to be placed next to the champions names after the points format change as I am pretty sure its commonly known the change was made starting in the 2004 season so it would be redundant to place an asterisk and Chase Format next to the names IMO.

The only thing that makes me not want to watch is that the 11th and 12th place drivers don't even get to make a speech! Whats the point of adding the extra 2 spots to the chase if those drivers aren't even honored at the banquet?? (And this year it happens to be 2 of my favorite drivers!)

Of course I'll still watch...Its my last Nascar fix until February, and I would never pass up the oppurtunity to see Tony make his speech, but I don't feel right about the Chase system either :/

I'm not excited about it either, since we know it's going to be just another praise session about Hendrick Motorsports with Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. I'm basically sick and tired of hearing about them and I just hope that someone can step up to the plate next year and challenge them alot more then they were this year.

The only reason I might watch it is to see what Clint Bowyer has to say because man, he had one hell of a year. RCR as a whole had a good year, I think they can improve on it, and win a championship next year, whether it be the 07, the 29, or the 31.

I will be glued to the Tv to watch it. I know this was kinda bad year for alot of fans for certain drivers and stuff but I always love watching it. Seeing Clint Bowyer there as a first timer and you never know what Smoke is going to get up there and say. He usually has some trick up his sleeve. I always find it kinda funny to see the drivers struggle with reading off the teleprompter. But I will never get tired of it. Im a Bigtime fan of Nascar no matter who is at the banquet. Besides that, you get to check out all the wives all decked out. LOL And see the drivers clean up.

I've never really HAD to watch it since I feel like I'm actually there some years, and that gets incredibly boring. But, in that case, at least I can change the channel rather than actually being there.

This year, the geniuses decided to air it on ESPN Classic. Unfortunately, Comcast took Classic took off basic cable and it is now part of a "premium package." But, I'm not going to be losing sleep over it any time soon.

I'll watch some of it, mainly to see Clint Bowyer, and to see what everyone is wearing. I'm sure I will be channel hoping, I'l check back and see who is on, Cousin Carl, and Matt see what they have to say.. I'm not a chase fan and never will be. I'm happy for the remote control and 81 days and counting till Daytona....If 11 & 12th place in the chase don't get to go on stage, then do away with 11 & 12th place in the chase..

JH50 My money says you will be right in front of the TV. during the entire showing.. both of us are just mad because our driver didn`t win (or at least we are disappointed)
Here is something to think about,,, I f the Race format had
been like it is now when Dale Sr. drove how many Championships that man would have won,, probably twelve
you need to keep your head screwed on good and tight tho.
being mad is extremely hard on your Cardiovascular system
loosen up be happy, its just a show anyway.....

I hear you, bro. The Chase has made the Cup series incredibly awkward. ESPN/ABC is putting the Banquet on ESPN Classic! Obviously, they must not care too much either.

I will watch it. I get a kick out of seeing first time winners and stuff. I will be glad for Clint Bowyer to see the genuine happiness on his face. He is not my favorite driver but Seeing him and Casey Mears win their 1st races this year was Great. Genuine emotion and happiness!!!
