I believe that the determination of our "Christianity" is formed by several factors, the most significant being the environment one was raised in... such a a Christian home or the opposite.
Secondly, there is the fact that most people are followers, not leaders. The bible clearly tells us to "work out our own salvation" in Philippians 2:12. Yet, millions take the easy road and "join the crowd" to whatever is the most popular or trendy... failing to seek the truth for themselves.
Those who carelessly do this has essentially placed their souls in the hands of someone else and will unknowingly find themselves in hell when all is said and done.
If this sounds like you, then I urge you to please email me at tn.minister@yahoo.com and allow me the opportunity to lead you to God's truth from the Holy Bible.

This one is easy.
Your religion, if indeed you have one, is as a direct result of, first, an accident of geographical birth. In other words, if you were born in Saudi Arabia to muslim parents, you would be a muslim.
If you were born in Japan ..... and so on.
Secondly, it then very much depends upon your parents. If they are deeply-religious, that's how you would be brought up, raised as a deeply-religious child. If they were atheists, they might well let you explore religion and then, at the age of reason, usually 12, you would be allowed to decide for yourself what you wanted to believe or disbelieve.
Those two simple issues decide what you will be.
As there are no REAL gods anywhere, there is no other outside influence.

I’ve started a couple of writing projects in the last three years. I hope to bring them together, and complete the task by the end of July 2007. I intend to self-publish through iuniverse which gives me freedom and quite a bit of editorial support and access to some of the resources of Barnes and Nobel. I’ll post some of the work, little bits and pieces, at this blog inviting your valuable feedback as always. In the event anyone is interested here’s a preview (not a final edit, BTW) . . .
Title–Christianity: The Reframing of Humanity
Thesis–A glance at much of today’s Christianity suggests that either the religion, as a frame, doesn’t result in distinct behavior or that 21st Christians haven’t been shaped by biblical frames. In this book I describe the problem and detail the effects of the wrong frames while noting several ancient, biblical frames. On the practical side, I’ll suggest a few means of grace that will allow us to adopt new frames–that is, to be transformed by God’s good grace in Christ and by His Spirit. Jesus didn’t die to provide the world another religious option. He gave His life so that we could be transformed; He died so that we would experience a foundational shift in our identity as humans. Christianity isn’t about creating nice people; it’s about following Jesus into our vocation as authentic humans for the sake of God’s glory and the restortion of the whole cosmos.

Nope, apparently other christians do. At least that's the impression I've gotten here at R&S from many people telling me that I'm "not a christian" because I don't subscribe to their particular brand of bible interpretation.
OK, seriously though, I think it's the combination of personal beliefs and daily actions, which constitutes "faith". Those who believe what Jesus taught and strive to follow His example are Christians.

God has always set apart and marked those who truly serve Him by keeping His commandments and His LAWS. The Apostle John was inspired to write: "He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a LIAR, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:4).
The true God does not even hear our prayers unless we keep His commandments! "And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and do those things that are pleasing in His sight" (1 John 3:22).

Well, I think it's all part of the same package, and as long as your faith is Biblical, then you have Christianity. No one is perfect, and God knows our hearts. In the end, I look to the
Word for the final say in this matter.

Hello!
A Christian is a follower of Christ.
Faith alone in Christ alone!
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing from the word of God.
Nothing more nothing less.
John 3:16 "Believe"! on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.
Take care!

Christians should not have "blind faith", and accept merely what others tell them they should believe.........even advice from clergy included.
Christians should go straight to what they believe are the actual words of the Christ in the accepted New Testament, and make their own decisions based on what's in their hearts.

Romans 9
16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
