You'll have to try a few different ones. If you can handle bitter, go after pale ales or India Pale Ales (IPA).
If you think dark beers would be good, start with something easy like Guinness or Murphy's or Young's stouts.
But some of the easiest beers are the wheat beers. Beers that say "weizen" or wheat (obviously) are lighter, a little sweeter, malty, yeasty and delicious. Hacker Pschorr, Hoegaarden and Blue Moon are pretty good and have a wide distribution.
A lot of good beers will be micro-brews from local and regional breweries.

If the only beer you ever had was Bud Light and you liked it, you will probably have a pretty easy time finding other beers you will like. Many people take a long time to get used to the flavor of beer, so stringer flavored beers turn them off.
Bud is a lager. You can explore other types of lagers. (Despite what some beer snobs will say, there are lots of very good lagers.)
Yuengling makes a very nice lager that is available all along the East Coast and some other places.
There are lots of good imported Czech and German lagers as well.
For ales, try whatever is on draft at the local bar. Bass is good, and is probably the most widely available English ale.
Try some stouts. Guiness is very smooth and easy to drink.
Half the fun of beer drinking is trying new kinds of beer. Sometimes you'll get one that does not suit your taste, but that's how you learn.

Hmm...
For ale I would suggest maybe Fat Tire, or Bass
But yknow the best way to find what you like is to try a lot of different kinds. That's the good thing about beer, it's inexpensive so you can go to a liquor store and try a little of everything. Have Fun.
P.S.
Don't let other people influence you on this either. I know a guy that loves Pabst Blue Ribbon (cheap) and I hate it. But I enjoy Olde English (also cheap) which most people think is disgusting.

Bud Light is a lager, whereas the good beers (fat tire among them) are ales. It's just a different way of brewing that makes them better.
My personal favorites are Deschutes, Sierra Nevada and Red Hook. There are ales, pale ales, india pale ales, red ales, extra special bitter, porters, stouts.... too many good beers to be drinking Bud Light (if you can afford them).
Those are western US brews so you may not have them. But in general start with the local microbrews cause they just taste better. After a while though, the cheap stuff is as good as any.

New Belgium's Fat Tire. It's a great first step coming up from the "macro breweries".
