vitamin e oil is the main ingredient in most of the scar creams, and it's the part that works, so just buy the pure oil and rub it on a few times a day - depending on how big the scars are, it'll still take a little time, but they will fade away
until then, for swimming, you could try board shorts:

also, they're probably much more noticeable to you than to anyone else - it's amazing what people don't see if they're not looking

Hi.
Funny thing is, I have the same problem. I gained a lot of weight due to a thyroid problem and i have them on my underarms, breast, stomach and legs. I tried everything possible cocoa butter, maderma, etc and nothing worked until I found Beauticontrol.
Beauticontrol is a lot like Avon or even Mary Kay but the difference is this is dermotologist strength stuff! I have seen an increase in results and I have only been using it for a month. My scars were dark red and thick now they are barely visible.
This is my consultants page and it's great!

Nothing will work within 2 weeks, trust me. I have a few scars from various accidents, but the only thing that helps is mederma, it lightens scars, but takes a long time to work. With new scars it will take 4-6 weeks, with old scars it will take 8-12 weeks. If it works.

I dont think there is a natural way to get rid of them fast unless you get some expensive surgury, but the over the counter cream "cocoa butter" supposedly reduces scaring over time. You should rub it on every day. It is somewhat sticky, so it might be uncomfortable to put on right before bed, as your sheets will stick to your legs.

vitamin e oil, rub it on them. usually works well in the begining...might be to long a time now... hopefully you've learned that hurting yourself does not hurt anyone but you. Talk to an adult about your feelings. It's really important, my ex boyfriend was a cutter. Be strong!
