I will answer this in simple terms.....
to me Agnostic means..... needing to see it to believe it. I won't rule out that there may be a God but until I have physical proof (not the bible which was written by men) but actual DNA proof then I will 'sit on the fence' as long as I like.
In saying that I dont begrudge anyones belief in God, Allah or Buddah. My son who is 9 asked about God when he was 7 so I bought the Childrens Edition of the Bible, read it to him and he made up his own mind. Yes he believes in God but he also still believes in Santa. Both of which I don't deny him.

I define agnosticism as the belief that we do not know the truth about God or which religion is correct and will never have proof or disproof in the existence of God. More or less, it is admitting that we do not know what is ultimately true. Agnostics may or may not personally believe in God, but they also concede that they have no proof of this and any number of other things may be true.

To me personally, agnosticism is honestly saying that in regards to deity, you're not quite sure what to believe. You're not saying something like "No god. Period." You're just saying that you're not entirely sure what deity is all about, if the Divine actually exists or not, and if It does, in what form?
To me, agnosticism is quite possibly the most honest form of "faith" there is. It's questioning belief systems for yourself and not simply accepting what others are telling you to believe is the truth.

Agnosticism means, basically, "knowledge of a deity (as a certainty) is unattainable". However, in popular culture, 'agnostic' is often used in an "I don't know" or "I haven't the relevant information ot make a decision" fashion.

Skeptic - doesn't really knowif there is or there isn't a God. Some may call it a realist since they can't really prove if there is a God. It has to come by faith.
BTW, I know there is a God and I have faith that He is real.

A person who actively searches all related data, and develops his views based on his/her research. Not many true agnostics. That leaves 'ignorant" Dumb on purpose.
