I always been afraid to drink IDK why... I am 13. My friends are getting beer tomorow. Can I drink? Will something happen to me or no? Is beer for adults only? How much do I drink to get drunk?

There is a reason that it's illegal to sell you alcohol before you are 18. You are right to be afraid. Even if nothing happens (it might!) tomorrow, starting to drink at the age of 13 is definitely something bad happening in your life. What kind of life do you want - do you want to be a loser or a winner? Your friends are giving in to peer pressure - they think they are cool to drink. They are just DUMB.

Hi Billy:

Good question! You have read by now lots of good comments from others here. The interesting thing about your question was what are you afraid of? Is it getting caught by your parents, or other adults, getting drunk and acting stupid, or throwing up in public, or becoming an alcoholic?

All potential scenarios that could happen, so you have to ask yourself, is it worth it? And yes, with your first beer you should feel a little woozy, that is legally drunk and you probably won't like the taste a first, but after awhile of continual drinking you won't notice it anymore.

Consider what's the worse that could happen and prepare for it. And then decide if it's worth it. Beer will always be around and you could try it at anytime in the future. This won't be the only opportunity, just your first. But it will definitely negatively affect your gaming skills!

You should be worried -- you shouldn't be drinking alcohol at the age of 13. You do not need to drink to have fun. Yes, beer is for adults only. You will probably end up sick to your stomach and not feel well for a day or two. Definitely not worth it. Don't feel pressured by your friends to drink either.

Drinking is always going to be around you in junior high and high school. Don't let your friends pressure you into doing something you aren't ready to do. If you decide to drink, then remember to do it responsibly of course. Now for the question "how much do I drink to get drunk?"... it just depends. It depends on the kind of alcohol you drink, how big you are, how fast you drink it, etc.

First of all you could drink one beer and get drunk you don't know how your body will react. People die everyday from drinking and drinking related accidents. Your 13 take it from me don't drink. You don't need to. It will always be easier to say yes than no. When you say no and stick to it you will be a stronger person. YOU DON"T NEED TO DRINK TO HAVE FUN.

ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS:
u have to drink a bit of beer to get drunk.
it just depends on you actually...it may take a few drinks to get a skinny girl drunk but it may take twice as much to get a bigger person drunk.
also on how fast you drink it...
if you chug it...probally 2 or 3 beers will get you drunk
but if you sip it [yukkkkkkkk] it'll probally take you twice as much.
&& it wont kill you unless you drink a **** load && get alcohol poisening or you do something deadly while drunk.
you'll probally feel like throwing up that night or feel sick && have a huge headache in the morning
BUT LISTEN
sweetie you dont have to drink to have fun!
if you dont drink..you'll see how stupid your friends are acting when they're drunk.
but just say you dont want to
you'll be cool just for standing up for yourself
&& not being a follower!
also beer is GROSSSSSSSS
[not trying to encourage you but] thats why i only drink liquour.
why do you think people have that gross look on their face && say 'ahh' at the end?? & its not a good 'ahh' its a omg this taste like **** 'ahh'
people only drink beer because its a cheap way of getting drunk!

Meh, your likely to get sick and throw up. You will also probably get caught drinking and get in a lot of trouble. Avoid the situation completely and do not go around your friends tomorrow.

To answer your question, yes drinking is for adults.

All alcohol in drink form is a chemical called ETOH or Ethyl alcohol. It has to be buried in sugar during processing because no human could consume it because of it's bitterness. It has been proven by human biologists that this compond is actually posionous to the human body and in excess WILL cause death. Everytime you drink you breakdown braincells vital to your growth and development, hence that is why it is illegal to sell to minors in this country. It is your decision to make but remember..if you have the hidden gene that causes one to become an alcoholic, and science has proven it exsists....do you want to chance growing up to live in a box and possibly dying on the street? Would you want your mom to read about that in the newspaper?

I adore beer and yet I would say don't do it. #1-it's illegal to drink underage. #2-your body is still developing and subjecting it to alcohol could cause problems and #3-you don't want to, it's just peer pressure from friends. Start practicing saying "no" now-next time it could be meth, crack or something else worse than beer.
