Do you think this article gets it right?

I must pick up on a comment made by Hopeless. Hopeless, you say that just as Israel wants to be recognized by Iran etc, so Israel must also acknowledge Hamas.

So you are equating a legitimate country, with a terrorist group?

That just cannot be right. Hamas has as a sworn aim the utter destruction of Israel. It is stated in the group's charter, so it's no secret. Please tell me how Israel is supposed to 'recognize' a group that openly admits it wants to destroy Israel and every single person living in it?

Israel has no such aim of destroying the Palestinian people. To the contrary, she is giving them free water, fuel, electricity. So please don't try and equate Israel, with the evil Hamas.

Now to the actual post:

Of course Hamas wants Annapolis to fail. If there is peace, then Hamas will lose power and will have no support for its' dearest desire, namely destroying the Jewish state.

When Bush is concerned.... The article may not be right... We all know Bush wants to start war with Iran...

Although Iran and Hamas have been supportive of attacks on Israel... They would love it if Annapolis failed.

The more they refuse the better the world sees who/whom Israel is dealing with.

Hamas dismisses Annapolis talks.
Hamas, which has not been invited to the Annapolis talks, said Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, had no right to negotiate on behalf of all Palestinians.

Iran's president dismisses Annapolis conference as "failure"
"When the real representatives of the Palestinian nation and the resistance groups were not attending the conference, and the rights, votes and demands of the Palestinian nation were not recognized, hundreds of such meetings would be futile," he said.

They already KNOW it's gonna fail and it's so sad how some people think that this will actually work. This people have openly called for the destruction of Israel. So this "peace" that you all fantasize in your beds while you sleep at night... it's just not gonna happen.

I am a Jew, and I am with Hamas on this one.

If it doesn't fail, then it'll only mean for Israel to give up more of her land, and for Arabs to once again claim Israel's weakness and call for her entire destruction.

Today in Palestine Fatah shot 40 Hamas demonstrators, the 40 went to the hospital injured. Is that peace? America and Israel don't recognize Iran or Hamas or Hezbollah, but yet all want the 3 groups to recognize Israel! If you tell me you don't accept me and then invite me to accept you and talk about peace it does not work that way. Also many in Israel want the peace talks to fail, going so far as to pray to the weeping wall , pray to God for failure. In the end, what's the solution? Guess all sides have to accept all sides? Maybe, Cheers!
