You're so right, Mrs Donna! I, as a true Christian, say ''Oh my God!'' only when taking it in my a** while ''Touch me, Lord Jesus'' is playing in the background.
Jesus wants our love and I have high hopes that he's proud of me not using His name in vain.

nicely we are actually "allowed" to. as though there could be some rule or regulation in comparison. in spite of the undeniable fact that it somewhat is somewhat unusual to apply those words. even nonetheless, technically it makes greater experience for an atheist to be announcing it because of the fact Christians think of that's a sin. I generally do not say it and it somewhat is not likely because of the fact i don't have faith in God. it somewhat is greater because of the fact i think of it sounds truly awkward for a grown guy to be all like, "oh MY God!" Sounds kinda valley-girlish.

Wow, you're a little touchy aren't you?
So, other religions can't claim that whatever they worship isn't a god, because it's offensive to you and 'THE GOD' which you obviously keep in touch with?
Seeing as we don't actually believe in a god, it's not blasphemy for us.
So why shouldn't we be able to say it?

"That should be a registered and copyright protected phrase"
Seventy years after the authors death and material enters the free domain. Who first credited it? Jesus, God?
Oh my God.

You getting me mixed up with someone who cares what YOU think.
I never say the OMG thingie but if I did and one of you things asked me if I was a born again xian I'd probably say yes if the penalty included imprisonment or death.
You horrible small-minded people do more for atheism than you will ever know.
Thank YOU! for contributing to my mirth.

The word GOD is not specifically owned by christians and there is more than one God despite the beliefs of christians. And who says christianity is the only right religion in the world anyway BUT christians themselves. We who are not christians find it offensive when persons of religion wish to own the one and only creator in heaven unto themselves. Pretty "VAIN" to think this way....

It's a turn of phrase, a figure of speech.
I also say 'Jesus', 'Holy S#it', 'Christ', 'Blimey' (short for God blind me)
As an atheist, blasphemy is not my problem - it's yours.
But for Christ's sake, there are much bigger issues in the world to be worried about.

Oh my God... What a narrow minded idea...!
If this is worthy of consideration, then why not introduce it's opposite as well and copyright an atheist phrase, "I think" since if anyone else says it, it's only nonsense.

"be allowed"? What country are you in? Are you going to demand a test to see whoever says the word "god" is Christian? Sorry, pagans and heathens get to talk to god too: Freyr, Odin, Zeus, the Horned One - all are gods.
That's a very loving proposition you have there.
