I can speak from experience! I am a gramma of 2 and one on the way. I have a highchair, playpen, portable crib, toddler bed, bouncer, walker, car seat, toys, clothes, blankets etc....I even have bottles, diapers, wipes and pacifiers. I look at it this way, the kids have enough to transport with the baby, diaper bag and car seat to grammas house. I want to be prepared for any eventuality that may come up. I bought it all and had a blast doing it. I want my little lovies to have everyting they will need when at nana's and papa's house.

When my parents look after my son I send over all the clothes that he need for the entire visit. My parents also care for my nephew 5 days a week for 5 hours while my sister works, she agains provides his clothes for him. She even buys extra nappies/diapers and creams to leave at their house so that my parents dont have to spend their money on those items. My parents dont charge us to care for the kids and we supply them with the essentials for their stay.

I'd say the grandparent would probably buy them. But, personally, I think the parents should be responsible for buying the items...ie: car seat, stroller, etc.

I can only speak from my own experience, but when my brothers son was born my parents bought TONS of baby gear, and when my friend got pregnant her mom bought TONS of baby gear.

I think generally the grandparents do, if they can.

If my parents were babysitting my child, I'd buy (or bring over) whatever gear was needed.
