Are you talking about Pussy? If that is what you are referring to, the term came from Puss which means cat. Kind of like kitty cat.
edit: I wrote out the entire word P***y and the word became all asterisk. Yahoo blocked it you guys.

I thought it had come from the call "Psssss Pssssss Pssss" when people want to get their cats in. Not many will stand and call "cats cats cats " ( although admittedly I do !)
I have searched and can't find anything that sounds like a reasonable explanation - be careful if you google P***y though !!
