He's been checked for worms, and he doesn't have them. What he does have is a bit of an anxiety problem (he's very skiddish). He's not taking meds for that...a daily routine works pretty well. I've always attributed his being thin on the anxiety, but I'm worried it could be something worse. As far as feeding him canned food...he won't eat meat. Really. It doesn't matter what brand, he won't even eat human food (meat).

how old is he? have you tried feeding him dry cat/ kitten food? has he been neutered? did you have him tested for felv/ fiv?

cats are strict carnivores!! they can not be vegetarians!! cats also have to have taurine in their diet (its in all cat food) because they do not make their own. you need to get your cat on a good quality cat food. some cats will not eat canned food. i have 3 that will not.

You -need- to get protein and fat into him. If you go to any pet store, you can find a high-calorie supplement, usually in beef flavor. Also pick up a canister of Kitten Replacement Formula (KMR - Kitten Milk Replacement). You can either opt for powdered (Lasts longer) or pre-made (Quicker).

Mix both of these together. Try mixing the formula by itself and see if he takes to it. If he does, mix in about a tablespoon or two of the high calorie supplement (It comes in a tube, it's either a gel or a paste. Mine is a paste). Allow your cat to drink this. IF HE WILL NOT TAKE EITHER WILLINGLY.... you've come to the final stage.

Buy a good syringe, almost every pet store has them. If you can't find them at a pets mart/pet co, go to an animal feed store. They generally have them on stock all the time. Get a medium sized one. Wrap him firmly in a towel and force feed the little sucker.

I have saved the life of COUNTLESS adult cats and kittens. If this doesn't work, your vet may give you a couple bags of IV fluid and you can at least give him some of that (Injected into the fold of the neck) to keep him hydrated.

Good luck!

Cats are CARNIVORES - they can't live on a vegetarian diet which is probably why this poor thing is wasting away. I'm not sure what your "daily routine" is in lieu of vet care but it's obviously not working. Get this poor animal to a vet before he dies. And if you can't afford a vet? Surrender him to a shelter so someone with the means to care for him can adopt him.

Talk to his vet. A cat that won't eat meat is something I've never even heard of.

Cats can't digest most other types of foods besides meat. Try dry cat food. If he's not eating meat or meat-derived products, then he's not getting the nutrition he needs and is why he's wasting.

Cat's are not meant to be vegetarians. Have you tried different dried foods? Or talked to your vet about your cat's diet and what perhaps might be wrong that he's not eating?

Take him to a pet psychiatrist/ hypnotist. It seems weird, but the animals respond really well!

(not really, I think it's all fake and just a scam)
