Hello, my dog has seizures and the other day she had one and fell on the bricks at the fireplace. Well I noticed it seemed like her sight to smell was off, well I have paid more attention and she seems to be blind in one eye. I can wiggle my finger in front of it and she doesn't budge, but the other one she backs away, so she can't see out of it. Also, I was looking closer at it and it seems it is swollen on the outside of the eye. It seems kinda like a black eye or something for a human and she can't see well out of it. Do you think this is serious or do you think it will go down? I am a broke college student and have spent so much money to get the seizures looked at and it doesn't help they can't help me they just put her on medicine so that's a waste of 300 dollars a trip. If it is serious then NO DOUBT I will take her to the Vet, I'm just trying to avoid another 300 dollar Vet bill. Booo!! Please help!!

The swelling may be related to the fall. But the blindness worries me. It is possible she has a head injury that has caused the blindness if she was not blind before this accident. I'm sorry but I would take her to the vet. If you had a bad experience with your last vet, try to find another(perhaps someone you know who has pets can refer you to a better one).

If the dog's eye is swollen and it seems like she can't see out of it, then you need to take her to the vet. I understand vet bills can be expensive, but it's your responsibility to take care of the animal when they need it. Talk to your vet about a payment plan if you can't afford to give so much at one time, but take care of your pet.

The swelling can be related to a bursted blood vessel, which can cause blindess if it's in the eye area, it pretty much internal bleeding, and that's serious, you should get that seen if possible.
