Please help, I have applied for Amex card at Costco. I am the main card holder and I also have a second card opened for my friend. My friend used the card to make a big purchase that I was not aware of, then he just took off and now I cant find him anymore, can I disputed the charge and have credit card copmany go after my friend but not me? Please help

Nope, you made your friend an authorized user. Making your friend an authorized user on your credit card was worse than co-signing. As an authorized user your friend can charge on the account but only you are responsible to pay.

Pay the debt. And if you can find your friend, take him to small claims to get the money back.

Good question. As an authorized card holder, probably not. When you sign them up, you are giving them permission to charge anything - and you are the person who has to pay.

Sorry - probably nothing you can do. They are not responsible in the eyes of AMEX.
