Why would God create people, give them no proof that "he" exists and then give them critical thinking skills?
And please don't say that it's all a "test". Give a logical reason, please.

I love it when people tell me to look in the Bible/Quran for proof of the Bible/Quran. lol.

I'm not surprised that some people here would compare themselves to VCRs. That's exactly what religious people are... outdated, old VCRs that are no longer even being made. Get with the times. I can't believe people still believe in far-fetched tall tales from so many years ago. Do you even realize how many religions have come and gone? What makes your religion so special? Just that it's inherently more violent, and is capable of wiping out any other religion within a nearby radius?

I am still stuck on the idea that an omniscient god has to test people... he knows what they are going to do before he tests them.

Because critical thinking skills must be used to acknowledge his existence. Allow the following examples:
Which makes more logical sense?
a) we are living in a unverse that was created from nothing in a huge explosion, and are the result of hundreds of 1 in a million chances that just so happened to all occur on this measly little planet.
b) we were created by a being/force more powerful than ourselves.
Choice a doesn't seem so logical.
If you answered a, then, logically, why do we as humans have to build houses, buildings, cars, etc. Why didn't they spontaneously explode out of nothingness?
For every piece of art, there is an artist.
For every builder, there is an architect.
For every design, there is a designer.
Who is your architect? Who built the complexities of that first cell?
No one? They just happened?
Please.

I don't understand why you consider yourself a skilled critical thinker, when your attaching gender characterisitcs, to a monothestic spiritual deity, when you are perfectly aware of having no recolation of having met such an indiviidual. Every theory of how our world and our universe came into existance, has always involved the underlying principle of uncertainity, it is logistically impossible to prove that any of them actually happened. At the end of the day many people willing accept their beliefs because it generates a certain feeling, a feeling which is right for them.

Think logically.
Existence of a person itself a logical proof that some one created him or her.
Have you ever seen a VCR came to existence without its manufacturer. Like wise a computer knows what to do as it is programmed to do but computer can not think beyond its programming. Same way Humans are limitation and can think beyond or above there abilities.
God Almighty is there since ever and will be there for ever, this logic is above and beyond our limited capacity and approach.

God gave us the choice between everlasting life and eternal damnation. If everything was perfect like Jesus then there would be no room for trials. In mans eyes there is critical or judgemental ways in many ways. God is perfect in every direction and you and I sit back in our own way and dictate and judge what is rigjht and wrong and don't realise we are in judgement of what we are doing.Black is black and whute is white and never judge what appears to be inappropriate for judging is a sin and God is perfect. Not everthing is perfect in our eyes, cute women ugly women, cute men, ugly men, but in Gods eyes everything is perfect and I thank the Almighty for the chance for ever lasting life and for the choice to decide life or death, praise the Lord.

As it is written, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings." (Prov 25:2)
It is also written, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." (Rom 1:20)
Edit: I am not trying to give you proof of God...only answering your philosophical question with the words (and wisdom) of God.

It doesn't matter what is said you are going to dismiss anything you don't consider logical or fits in yoru critical thinking skills.
God does exist and he gave you the abiblity to think so you don't sit around like a zoombie or a mindless creature running into walls.

You have more than proof that He exist, do not say that He does not give proof. The creation is something that helps us to see that God exists.

So as to demonstrate that you have total free will ...you can even postulate God does not exist ...but you can't prove it, for or against....btw YOU are the proof .

The problem with you unbelievers is that you depend entirely upon logic and rationality. But these are useful ONLY for natural occurrences. God is SUPER-NATURAL. He is not flesh, Hs is Spirit. That requires FAITH.
Your LOGIC can never save you - only FAITH can save.
Sink or swim!
1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Hbr 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
