Set up a fun day and allow for such another moment to have opportunity. That way you can drive him a little crazy the whole time.
You can confront him if that's your speed. Go with your comfort zone. Sounds like you guys like each other. If you are friends first, show him you guys can still be cool with each other - stay friends and add romance. You can give him a hard time either overtly or through torturing him by not brining it up, but taunting him with opportunity, and press him to make a move.
You can also reciprocate on a similar occassion.
I think the fling maneuver was because the would have "some splainin' to do" and he was obviously not sure how to define the moment when it was still in process.
Very cool story to tell your grandchildren.

Don't attack his feelings. He obviously has feelings for you and finally got up to doing something about it. He may be unsure of his feelings and not know how you feel about the situation. If you think things could go farther with you two - great! Tell him. If you don't think things will work, let him know without bashing his self-esteem. Either way - this must be done at a moment where both of you are comfortable in doing so.
Good luck.

That is a great moment, just let things run their natural course. If it happens again, ask him whats up. The fact that he held you makes me think he likes you, he was just scared of getting caught in a moment by friends who might tease him latter.

Confront him about what? He kissed you, you let him. He held you, you let him. Obviously, he didn't want to be seen doing it. He likes you. What's there to be mad about?

well if you have not said anything to him about it he is running away because he is afraid you are going to reject him, so if you enjoyed the kiss and want to pursue a closer relationship with him, go for it lol : )

it was probably an impulse kiss, he likes you. but he wasn't ready for the world to know, and since nobody knows, he didn't want them to find out like that. don't worry, and good luck :)

He likes you but is unsure of your feelings for him. You should talk to him so that he knows where you stand on all of this.
He could also be adverse to PDA.
