My friends and I believe that people should choose their own religion later in their adult life and that they shouldn't be instantly assimilated into whatever religion their parents are following when they are born.

I don't believe in a God, and don't necessarily believe in all of evolution (explain the first cell, where'd that come from?). Like i mentioned in the latter paragraph, I still have a couple decades to finally decide on my own what religion I want to follow.

What type of position/religious status am I considered? Some have said I am agnostic and others have said I am: no affiliation.

It's not a guarantee, I have my whole life to choose a religion if I ever find one that suits me is what I mean.

Agnostic, bordering on Deist.

Explanation: Although you say you don't believe in "a" God you did not say that you do not believe in "any god". The fact that you are leaving your options open indicate that you are agnostic. Also the fact that you do not believe in the god of your parents indicates a deistic approach. Belief in god but no hard fast rule in which to worship him/her/it by.

Addendum: Then you are by definition Atheist. If you change your mind in the future you will be what you are then.

As many of the others said, saying you "don't believe in a G-d" suggests that you are an athiest. But I'm wondering, when you ask where the first cell came from, are you thinking that there might have been a creator or creative force of some kind? If so, perhaps "agnostic" would be a better term.

That being said, I would urge you not to be too concerned about labels. It sounds as though your belief system has not yet crystalized. Maybe this is just a time for waiting and reflection.

If you don't believe in God, you are an atheist. If you doubt the existence of God, you are an agnostic. If you have described yourself accurately, you are confused.
Almost all parents believe that their children should be brought up in a moral system. Many send their children to church to learn a moral system. Mine sent me and my sister to Congregational Church even though dad was a lapsed Episcopalian and Mom was religious something I never quite defined.
A great many people go through a crisis of faith at some time in adolescence or young adulthood. Mine occurred literally as I was sitting in the group to Confirm (adult baptism) my entry into that Congregational Church. My response was to do a great deal of study to place what I had been taught into the context of what I found was the history and detailed beliefs of various (mostly Christian Churches). I have no affiliation, but I do not doubt.
As for the first cell, there is a proposed clear sequence of amino acids forming proteins forming virus like entities eventually forming cell like structures that eventually get the ability to divide and finally specialize.

If you definitely don't believe in any God, you're an atheist by definition. If you're just reserving judgement about the existence of God, you're agnostic. No affiliation works either way, I think.

Re: evolution, I think where the first cell came from is a really interesting question. The RNA world hypothesis is a currently popular attempt to at least partially answer that question.

You are considered... well, who needs a label?

I don't know who has led you to believe that you have a couple of decades to decide your religion but they led you down the wrong path. Tomorrow could be your last day, you could die before you finish reading this very answer.
....

Religion is a simple thing. I think what you are struggling with is spirituality. Spirituality is a very personal aspect of ones life. You don't choose how you feel about something. You just feel that way. When it comes to the unanswerable questions in life all you have is your belief in what is, what was and what will be. All I can say is i hope you don't wait two decades to look for meaning in your life.

Good Luck in your search.

If you do not believe in God, then you are not agnostic you are atheistic. On the other hand, you are seeking some affiliation so I would categorize you as a non-denominational atheist.

Forget the mumbo-jumbo - it's about you and God, and who you say that he is.
