You shouldn't be jumping to conclusions, but you should be making an appointment.
Sure, it could be cancer. Cancer doesn't just say, " Hey, here I am," And it could also be little more than you are trying to do too much and not getting enough rest. After all, you're 17. And this is quite normal..
i know you're scared, i would be too.But isn't it better to live in hope rather than in fear?? I hope your problem is not cancer but just something mild which can easily be treated. Make that call. Tomorrow!!'

Well, it is unusual for there to be any symptoms with cancer unless it is advanced . . and by than you would know. So . . in your case . . this may be a 'no news' is good news situation.

My son was diagnosed at 17 with advanced cancer and he had no warning signs at all until a few weeks before going to the hospital.

Cancer is a progressive disease which means it starts out really small and almost impossible to detect or find in the body. So, there are no symptoms. It isn't until the cancer or tumor is larger that it might affect tissue or organs or you might be able to see it as a lump or bump.

Teenager have specific types of cancer, in general, not the type that adults will get. So, those are the kinds of cancer a doctor might look for . . and because it has been 8 months . . that's a long time in the cancer world . . cancer can grow quickly . . some grows within 28 days. Check your body for any lumps or bumps that seem unusual as they are clearest signs for cancer in teens.

Sounds like you might be anemic. If you have something that requires a specialist your regular doctor can give you a referal. If you have a high white blood cell count it means your body is fighting an infection. It is a good sign because it means your immune system is working.

Warning signs of cancer (but don't always mean it is cancer)

1. A scab, sore or ulcer that does not heal in 3 weeks.

2. A skin blemish or mole that enlarges, bleeds, or itches.

3. A lump or swelling beneath the skin,

4. Blood in the stools or urine.

5. Persistnent cough or coughing up blood.

Try to relax and research your symptoms on www.webmd.com.

You most likely don't have cancer. You are probably anemic and your immune system is run down. Since this has been going on for 8 months you are about due for your yearly physical any way so just get it done early. Also be sure the multivitamin you are using is one that is well absorbed by the body. Research it on the web and if it isn;t one that is well absorbed by the body then switch to one that is absorbed better by the body. Add a good antioxidant supplement to your daily routine too.

Sounds like you have leukemia. White blood cells are not able to fight off illness with that cancer. Red blood cells decrease in number. Elevated white blood cell count could also be some type of cancer.

Other indicators of cancer could be anything, because there are so many types of cancer.
