Most Protestants do not know the history of the Church nor of the Bible. They think that Catholics added books to the Bible in the 1500s -- when, in fact, the Catholics decided which books would be in the Bible in the 4th century (at the COuncil of Rome) and it hasn't changed since then.
Most Protestants are unaware that their church founders actually deleted several books from the Bible.

The church did not select the NT books... the Holy Spirit did. The books considered to be NT were what the majority of Christians of the early Church agreed were inspired by God, even before they were canonized. The Church of Rome translated the scriptures into Latin, the Vulgate written by St. Jerome. The NT books were copied from the Greek Septuagint, which is still used by the Eastern Orthodox today. The apocryphal books from it were considered deuterocanonical by the Catholic church, and are not in the original Hebrew Tanach. The Protestant Bible follows the Hebrew scheme and does not include them. The Catholic church does have truth, but there are also some errors in it's doctrines and traditions. The same Holy Spirit that enables believers to know God's Word, even today, also testifies to this truth and the errors. My, look at all the thumbs down... can't handle the truth? You can have your faith in the Church, defending your religion, or you can have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Where does your allegiance belong? As Christians, our unity is in Christ, not the RCC. Let's uphold the creed and all Christians believers, chosen of God and sealed by His Spirit. Nothing personal, just hoping some people will think about it.

A little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing. I will try to answer this here but it really requires much more space.
First it was not the Catholic church at the time of the canonization. No one church had all of the original documents. Some had copies of some manuscripts and originals of others. The leaders of the different Churches got together with the original documents they each had. Then compared them to all of the other material that each had. They then only accepted as scripture only those that they could prove were genuine. It is much more involved than this, but this is the abbreviated version.
God bless you
Keep studying the scriptures and do research on ancient history as well.

If we had to depend upon Rome to decide which books belonged in the Bible we would have had to wait a long time, as despite some "lower court" decisions, it took until the 16th century for Trent to give the decision with full Roman authority.
True Christians recognized from the beginning which books were God-breathed and thus had God's power and life, just as they recognized that the preaching of men like Paul fell within the category of Scripture - the Word of God - before it was written down (1Thes. 2:13; 2Thes. 2:15).
The Bible was not held as Scripture withstand over 2,000 years of attacks to become the world's best seller by autocratic decree, but because it's books manifests their God - breathed inspiration to whosoever receives it's Author and His message,
And what is missing among those well worn books are the ones that Rome added, that were not part of the Hebrew canon in Jesus time, as they come short of the criteria of the full inspiration that Scripture has, and by the way, is the only class of revelation (versus "church tradition) that God explicitly assures us is inspired (2Tim. 3:16). See here for a very good documentation on why the extra books were not included: http://www.christiancourier.com/articles/read/the_apocrypha_inspired_of_god
http://www.christiantruth.com/Apocryphapart1.html
Rome's other errors are multitude, and well documented. Scripturally, the RC assumption of a papacy is not Biblical, and is patterned more after the manner of the autocratic Roman empire. Taking on the form of the empire in which it was found, it became a vast an autocratic (answerable to no one) institution, with it's own Caesario-papacy, that adds to the Bible and effectively it makes it a second class authority (after the "Teaching Magisterium"). Thus were unScriptural doctrines like indulgences and novenas and prayers to saints adopted, and the Bible was effectively bound from the common people for hundreds of years, while later Bingo was loosed! Hence a autocratic Caesario -papacy that makes the Bible a second place authority to an autocratic pope and church.
But the ultimate error of Rome is that of fostering dependence upon her supposed powers, as well as one's own merits, for salvation, rather than coming before God as sinners, destitute of any merit whereby they may escape Hell and gain Heaven, and thus casting all their faith upon Christ and His blood for justification and regeneration (Rm. 3:9 - 5:8; Eph. 1:13; Titus 3:5).
And having turned from sin to Him, be baptized under water (Acts 8:37) and walk in newness of life (Rm. 6). And so to God be the glory alone!!

"The apostolic traditions are hearsay...."
Are you kidding? The WHOLE BOOK is hearsay! The bible was put together by a commitee of bishops at the Council of Nicea in 325 c.e.

The New Testament was formed by God. If He chose to use the Catholic church as His vehicle for its formation that's His prerogative.

So it was accepted by the Catholic Church. It was also accepted by the Protestant Church. What are you trying to say you found it first. The apostolic traditions are hearsay and nonsense we let the Catholics have them.

You are close minded. If Jesus does miracles in churches that are not Catholic... who are you to open your mouth against them?
