Is the country in this link "racist" because they oppose illegal aliens as EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD DOES?
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/060815a.aspx
MEXICO CITY, Mexico - For the past month, America's attention has been focused on the Middle East war. During that time, another 300,000 illegal aliens have crossed America's border with Mexico. But you won't believe how Mexico treats its illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens from Mexico were allowed to march through America's cities, demanding citizenship – some even waved the Mexican flag. But illegal aliens inside Mexico, mostly from Guatemala and Honduras, are literally on the run.
Some travel by train and some hide, trying to stay one step ahead of the Mexican Federal Police.
The Mexican government was outraged by the movement to build a new wall on America's southern border. Mexico's Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez went before the cameras to protest.
Derbez said, "Mexican immigrants are not felons or terrorists. They are human beings who deserve respect and the opportunity to live with dignity."
But in Mexico, when it comes to the treatment of its illegal aliens it's, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.’
Mexico has called U.S. immigration policy "harsh," and has called the proposed wall on the U.S. Mexico border "shameful." But some have called the Mexican immigration policy "hypocritical."
Enter Mexico illegally and you're treated as a felon. If you're caught by the Federal Police, you'll be fortunate if you're only deported immediately. The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers.
Fernando Aguilar Neri coordinates Red Cross efforts to help illegal aliens in Mexico.
“When people approach us, they are usually fearful that we work with the government and are afraid of being reported,” said Neri. “…One of the seven principles of the Red Cross is complete neutrality and independence, so we can't cooperate with the Mexican government on the illegal alien issue.”
Neri says that most illegals moving through Mexico try to avoid the cities.
The Catholic Church also shields illegal aliens from the Mexican government. CBN found two shelters for illegals in Mexico City, but weren't allowed inside.
Most of the Central Americans inside are on their way to the United States. They'll be fortunate if they arrive unharmed.
One immigrant from El Salvador said, "If you are carrying any money, the police take the money and then say, get out of here."
"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
“Grupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area,” Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
“No maps,” he said. “We give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.”
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, that’s over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.
The Mexican government may think a new wall on the U.S. border is offensive, but critics are saying far worse things about Mexico's immigration policy.

Cut it out........ it was legal to come to the US once upon a time and actually encouraged. You are going to relate a German who came on a boat and was processed legally to the 21st century illegal? The world has changed and you have to be smarter than that.
Racist? No many get deported from all over the world.
I grew up and have lived and worked ALL over the world so I think that I see things a bit different than the average american. I speak 4 languages like a native, speak 8 fluently but with an accent and can get along in normal conversation in about 10 more. I spent much time in central and south america....... and not in the cities.
My fear is those who don't understand other cultures. All through history those who claim racism actually cause racism. Those who never thought to be racist suddenly start feeling that way when they hear a group claiming racism.

Name one other country that has not had ancestors who immigrated within the last 300 years or so.Does 300 years ago condone document fraud, drunk driving with no license fleeing from accidents claiming Immigration supersedes human life. Mexicans put themselves in the spot light why now do they cry racism when it is they whom cast the first stone. Why do Mexican discriminate against whites/blacks by hiring only Mexicans then demand our laws be changed to include fraud as acceptable and non punishable due to I have kids I can steal whatever , it's all about the kids. Trying to dwell on 300 years ago is the same as living in the twilight zone. Just because Mexicans demand freebies does not entitle them to all their hearts desires. They get free medical care, is it racism that others do not ? Does Mexico provide free health care ? The Mexicans got a good deal here seeing as a country they break into actually offers them more then their own country. At some point your illegals have to start doing their part.

BS--The overwhelming majority of posters on this site accept legal immigrants and reject illegal immigrants aka trespassers.
So the answer to your question is YES.
Regarding ancestors - it was a much different world with far less people and few immigration laws. In the past hundred years or so, developed countries have screened their legal immigrants. Almost all the illegal immigrants in the U.S. would NEVER get through the screening process due to lack of education, skills, experience, relationships, etc. etc.

People who are well educated and have a common sense don't let others distract them with this issue, illegal immigration. It's obvious some of us have been brainwashed by the media, politicians in regard of this mess, illegal immigration. But let's be clear ...
a) There's no racist at all if we don't want people to keep coming here illegally. The Immigration issue is continue to divide people in this country, just because of the lack of our Government and the Media who are using this mess to make money.
b) There's also no moral values at all to say all of those undocumented people are criminals. And we have to admit the good ones among the undocumented people who are working hard and living here since 3, 5 10 years or more would never be deported if one day our leaders want to end this mess.
Of course today there are some people who stand behind of this mess, illegal immigration, to spread their anger and their xenophobic feeling because they just cannot stand foreigners. We had this before with the Irish, Dutch, Italian people back in the days.
America cannot accept for any longer the illegal immigration, and soon when we have people with great understanding in Washington, they would end this mess.

I see your point, but from someone who lives where alot of illegal immigrants have come....I do not appreciate them getting free lunches, reduced housing and so on while I pay full price for my kids lunch and no one helps me with my mortgage......and then I have to beg for help for my kids if they are struggling in school while this illegal immigrant gets a free tutor that can speak 2 languages. If they come over legally....which I know is hard...and work and are honest, I say come on in. Not many doing that though, so that's where the anger and racist stuff comes from.

I agree with Dr. Evil, Juno, and the one who reprimanded this question as racist due to mentioning only the KKK. Sorry but it's you and others like you who want this to be a racial issue. It's a legal issue, always has been, always will be. Real Americans are those who wish to be Americans, go through the system legally and of course, all of us who are citizens, native or naturalized. So bleat on.

Illegal aliens from 180 countries were deported from the U.S. last year. Obviously this comprised MANY differentraces.
ALL countries have the right to have immigration laws and enforce their borders. Obviously this comprises countries of MANy different races.
Citizens of all countries oppose illegal aliens. Obviously this comprises citizens of MANY different races.
Therefore, we can deduce from the previous FACTS that illegal aliens consist of people of ALL races in ALL countries, opposed by citizens and countries of ALL races.
Therefore, we can deduce that people that oppose illegal aliens are NOT racist. PERIOD.
And that IS a "full understanding of the issue".
There are racist groups of all races. The KKK don't have a monopoly!!! It's interesting how only ONE racist group of ONE race was mentioned. Why do you suppose that is?

what is so racist about wanting to protect your country that you have put time, and money into? and just to have someone come into it and destroy it? truthfully, i dont know what is worse, that were allowing this to go on, or that there is absolutly no one with the power to do something about stoping this, to infact stop it! i get sick to my stomach just thinking of what is going to happen to this country in the next decade, if these kind of immoral values continually come into the country.
but, the real reason that many americans do not like the hispanics that come here, is they DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH,AND REFUSE TO DO SO! this is the #1 problem, they refuse to assimilate, they like us handing them their language on a silver plate, and so they'll never have to assimlate. but there are also the problems of welfare, anchor babys, our justice system and illegals, and probably a whole lot more. you are right, all people in america came from somewhere, but they sacrificed everything, traveled for months, and ASSIMILATED, and eventually the country welcomed them. (and mostly, other countries immigrants do a better job of assimilating because it took alot for them to get here as opposed to hispanics.)
