why are glasses better than contact lens?

There are fewer health risks with glasses.
The occasional physical injury doen't compare against the incidence of infrections, and corneal damage due to indaquate oxygen supply.

For some activities the vision is usually better in spectacles.
(relatively static central vision tasks, such as looking at a computer screen for example)
Spectacles can offer higher levels of contrast, more accurate correction and more stable vision (In many but not all cases)

If a person's Rx changes little, and they're not a fashion victim, the running costs of spectacles can be considerably lower than with contacts.

On the other hand, on a different set of points, contact lenses out-perform glasses.

I have no idea why anyone would prefer glasses to contacts. I am a contact wearer and have been for 17 years. I can't stand to wear my glasses and see no benefit from them. I wish I could answer your questions, but I just hate glasses! LOL

Glasses wouldn't irritate your eyes as much as contact lenses, and glasses are easier to find if you lose them.
