I only have one, but I don't plan on stopping at just one. I'm so glad that you're excited about your pregnancy. I came from a family of five children. When we would go to the store, people would look at my mom like she was nuts. Some would even ask things like "Are they ALL yours?" What they don't realize is that a family of seven isn't that big. I know a couple of families that have 13 and 14 kids. In Mexico, among the Mennonites it is very common to have anywhere from 5 to 15 kids (some less, some more). At least you'll have fun and exciting family gatherings!

I currently have two girls but am expecting #3 in May '08'.
Originally we planned on 4, but I think this bundle will be our last, maybe we'll see :)
Congrats on #5!!!! That is super exciting, I wish you all the best.

I think not wanting big families has to do with the cost of living these days, as well as many people are starting their families at later ages so its not so easy to have big families. Esp for those with fertility issues.

I'm sure people think you are crazy just because they personally couldnt handle that many kids themselves, so therefore you are nuts.
But if you've got more love to give than why not have as many as you can handle?
I personally have always wanted 10 (just like my Nan. She thinks I'm nuts) but figured in this day and age 4 would be a nice even number. But I'll tell ya if I was a billionare and never had to worry about money then I'd have as many kids as I could bear before menopause.

Again congrats to you and your family on such a surprise lil blessing.

I've got two, a 19 month old boy, 8 month old girl. At the moment they're still a bit crazy, being so close in age, but I would love 2 more, I want a big family too!
I think sometimes it's more a case of practicality, ideally I would love 6 kids, but financially and space-wise I know it probably wouldn't work so well! I'll definiely aim for 4 though, and I don't think you're crazy. Congrats on the new bub!

I have 3, 2 girls and a boy. I always wanted 4, but after having my last child my body was saying that is enough. I dont even get the clucky feeling anymore when I see a new born baby. I guess sometimes you know when to stop, and perhaps some people need to stop at 1 or 2. I think also a lot has to do with being able to afford it financially to bring another child into this world. Some who have had a c-section usually medically can only have 3, and some medically maybe lucky to have 1.

I have my 1st due in March. I only want 2 kids as of now. 1 boy & 1 girl preferably, but if I end up with 2 girls...I'm fine with that. I don't c anything wrong with a big family, but I don't think that I could handle any more than 2 kids. Lol. Good luck!!!

I have one apiece, and I'm expecting my third. I want to be surprised, just like my other births. My husband keeps saying he'd like another daughter, but I think he'd be happy either way, and so would I.

if you can afford it why not? dont worry about what others may think if you and your husband are happy that is all that matters. i think people dont have big families b/c life is expensive these days.

good luck on the new baby!
