What I mean is, how do you think that person would look and act.

I should add that for Joshua Benton, he would be called Benton, not Joshua. Both names are in honor of our grandfathers. But I think Joshua Benton flows better than Benton Joshua.

To the person that said to throw out Joshua and just call him Benton. Um, no. If you could read you would see that both names are in honor of somebody.

Secondly, my father's name is Howard Winston and he's been called Butch ever since he was born. That's basically his name. He's never had any problem with it and he just tells people to call him that. Also, this way he knows if it's a friend or a stupid telemarketer calling him on the phone.

Dahlia Marie - feminine and a bit spunky. ;) Attractive in an artsy, offbeat sort of way.

Lillian Jude - interesting! ;) On first name alone, I'd picture a sweet, classic sort of girl/women. Well mannered and polite, but still with a fun side (a la Lily). Unexpected, anything-but-frilly middle name Jude totally balances that out in a great way, as well! Still a classic, but with an unexpected twist that nicely "grounds" the name in its entirety. Lovely. ;)

Joshua Benton - common first name, so I simply picture an "average" sort of boy/man. Not unattractive, but not completely intriguing either. Not overly-intelligent, but far from ignorant. Likable, but just as likely to blend in. You get the idea. Benton is an interesting middle name choice, however, and I think it works well in full. Very nice.

Just to comment on Joshua Benton, if you plan on calling your child Benton, then come up with a name that flows with it as a first name. That's really stupid to have him use his middle name from birth and explain to everyone "oh, it flowed better." If you want him to be called Benton, then his first name should be Benton, doing it any other way is stupid.

I think Dahlia Marie and Lillian Jude would look like very plain people. They sound old ladyish. Joshua Benton seems like an athlete.
