You must reach all Marine weight regulations BEFORE they allow you to enlist. When you sign your enlistment contract you go into DEP as a result you need to meet the requirements when you are at MEPS that day or they will send you home until you lose the extra weight. They are not going to give you a seat in boot camp and school hoping you can lose the weight, you need to be there first.

You can't be overweight to enlist. You have to be weight qualified. If you drop me a note, I can tell you what the qualifications are for you and maybe help out a little bit. Find a recruiter and ask if you can go to their poole functions until you loose the weight you need to be qualified.

Side note from your previous question: Females don't do pull-ups, they do flex-arm hang.

My son just joined the Army. When he was going through his joining process his recruiter gave him a diet and exercise regimen. He had to get down to below 30% body fat to be able to take a special entry test called a step test to qualify to go to boot camp. The step test requires that you step in time to the beat for five minutes up and down a 16 inch step. For entry without the step test he would have needed to be below 26% body fat. My best advise is to begin to work with your recruiter now. They can help you get in shape, will help monitor your progress, and provide you with advise on how to safely drop the weight to be qualified.

umm, you can't be. you must meet weight standards before you can sign up. you might get a recruiter willing to let you slide about ten pounds if your ship date is a couple of months in the future, but that's it. you still have to pass the physical before they allow you to sign.

The army is more willing to take on over weight people.
But it is not just body weight that is a factor it is your body fat that counts.
