I'm writing a term paper on parenting the next generation and i need a website that doesn't have all that self-esteem/confidence bullshit. Can anyone recommend a site that is in touch with the realities of good parenting?

maybe i shouldn't have typed it like that. I need a website that doesn't tell parents to praise their children for losing. I don't want to read another article about how " you can be anything you want". Get my point?

"self-esteem/confidence bullsh*t". Right. Because raising strong, confident people is bad. We should berate them and belittle them at every turn. That should bring about success...

Please do some maturing before having children. Thank you.

I think I'm probably the only one here who DOES get your point. I don't like celebrating mediocity either. I believe in letting a child know when they've done something wrong. Would it have been okay for the world to take Jeffrey Dahlmer aside and PRAISE him for his actions...Of course I'm sure he had one hell of a recipie for a good steak though! I believe in letting children know their mistakes, to show them and to expect them to LEARN from the mistake. What does a child learn when they're told they don't make mistakes? (usually that the adults around him/her are stupid.)

You are looking for a good parenting website, yet it can't mention "self-esteem/confidence bullsh*t" Jesus Christ. People like you should be given chastity belts until you grow up.
