My daughter works for a day care center. Her job for Christmas is to make a Scottish dish. Probably on the order of cookies or small cakes. Something that would be paletable and eye appeling for them. Thank you. Lee

Cranachan would probably be a good one.
I've put a link below of a fairly good recipe and it is simple to make in quantity if needs be.
"Double Cream"="Heavy Cream"
Whisky... only enough for taste rather than any inebriation LOL
Honey... clear runny honey is best
Toasted oatmeal... use pinhead/coarse oatmeal and toast in a dry frying pan for a few minutes until lightly brown
Some people gently fold in the raspberries... gives the dish a more rustic feel
You don't need the shortbread served with it... that is more for fancy restaurants and I don't think it actually adds anything to the dessert.
Tablet is more a confection than dessert and can be a sod to make and get right LOL

How about traditional Scottish shortbread cookies. You can cut them into shapes and decorate them or simply sprinkle them with white or colored sugar. Here is a simple recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grannys-Shortbread-Cookies/Detail.aspx
