Any time you push a needle through your body will hurt. That being said brow piercings hurt very little. A slight pinch and it's done. Before I go any further go to www.safepiercing.org to find the best piercer in your area.

You'll also find the best aftercare instructions.

Healing will take 3-6 months, sometimes more. Being a surface piercing they are prone to migration (I've had my brow piercing for 9 years and so far it's fine).

Regarding the rumors, they are just that meant to scare people from getting it pierced. Nerves "hide" near the bone and under the muscles as protection from minor cuts, burns, etc. To be able to hit the nerves/veins/muscle in that area you would have to be trying to hit them and even then it would be difficult.

Having had my eyebrow pierced 3 times, once through scar tissue and soon to be headed back in to get them both done again, it doesn't hurt that badly at all.

You will feel it, but it is 90% pressure and 10% sting in my experience. After it is done it's only sore when it is bumped or if you skip a cleaning by accident.

If you pierce your own eyebrow it will probably be crooked and will be more likely to grow out just because you don't have the experience to do it correctly. You won't die unless you give yourself some germ with dirty instruments like tetanus or hepatitis.

A professional, reputable piercer will be absoluely safe in piercing your eyebrow. Sterile instruments and TRAINING make it completely safe to have them work on you. Nerves in places like your eyebrows are well hidden. The stories about paralysis are created by people who want to frighten others out of getting a piercing.

If you don't clean your piercing you can get very sick. You could in theory die if you let it get that bad. But all you need to do to keep from getting any infection at all is to keep your piercing clean according to your piercer's directions. Don't touch your piercing, play with it, or sleep on it, and keep it clean. This will solve the whole infection issue.

Eyebrows can grow out. The more you touch it, sleep on it, fiddle with it, or change it's jewlery, the more likely it will be to grow out. The best prevention for this is to leave it alone aside from cleaning, get it done by a reputable professional, and wear the jewlery that fits you best (not what you find that you like, what really fits you and you happen to like)

Eyebrows are a safe and easy piercing to care for when you get them done by an excellent piercer. Keep your piercing clean and you should be just fine.

It doesnt hurt too bad. But really it depends who you are. Usually just feels like a pinch though, and it may hurt a bit after words, but just take good care of it and it'll be fine. Mine took about 4-5 weeks to heal fully. And also, make sure you get it done by a lisenced person. And make sure the place you are getting it peirced at is clean.
